The Restart Report feature provides troubleshooting of the SBC 1000/2000 by providing data for the following:
- Restart History. A list of past SBC restarts and the reason for each restart.
- H/W Post Results. Log messages from the Hardware Power-On-Self-Test.
- Core Files. A list of all core files and the ability to delete or download these files.
If the SBC 1000/2000 was operating on software versions 3.2 or older, the version and build information may be unavailable.
Restart History
The SBC maintains a restart history log file (up to the last 20 reports) which provides information about restarts, such as reason for the reboot and time the reboot occurred. The restart history is persistent and cannot be deleted. However, the Restart History is cleared during a factory default.
Viewing Restart History
View Restart History as follows:
- In the WebUI, click the Diagnostics tab.
- In the left navigation pane, go to Restart Report.
Click the Restart History tab.
Restart History - Field Values
Reboot Reason
Start Time
Time when the SBC started up following the reboot.
Version
Version on which the SBC started up following the reboot.
Build
Software build on which the SBC started up following the reboot.
Refreshing Restart History
To refresh the Restart History table:
- In the WebUI, click the Diagnostics tab.
- In the left navigation pane, go to Restart Report.
Click the Restart History tab.
- Click the refresh ( ) icon located in upper right-hand corner of the Restart History table.
H/W POST Results
The SBC maintains in text, the results of the hardware "Power On Self Test" which is executed during the node start up.
Viewing H/W POST Results
To view H/W POST Results:
- In the WebUI, click the Diagnostics tab.
- In the left navigation pane, go to Restart Report.
Click the H/W POST Results tab.
Core Files
Core files are stored in the SBC. These files are generated by any of the SBC's internal applications or the DSP experiencing an abnormal termination of a process. These files also help with advanced debugging.
The following options are available:
- Download core files
- Delete one or multiple core files
- Refresh display of core files
Caution
Core files should only be downloaded or deleted at the direction of Sonus Global Services.
Viewing/Downloading Core Files
Core files can be downloaded one at a time.
To view/download core files:
- Click the Diagnostics tab at the top of the WebUI.
- In the left navigation pane, click Restart Report.
- Click the Core Files tab.
- Click the Download link next to the core file you wish to download.
- Save the core file in a convenient location.
Core Files - Column Values
Core File Name
Core File Location
Lists the device on which the core file is stored. Possible values:
- External USB Drive
- ASM Drive
- Internal Flash Drive (available only on the SBC 2000)
Core Dump Time
The time in which the core dump occurred.
Size
The size of the core dump.
Action
Deleting Core Files
To delete one or multiple files:
- Click the Diagnostics tab at the top of the WebUI.
- In the left navigation pane, click Restart Report.
- Click the Core Files tab.
- Select the checkbox (one or more) next to the entry you wish delete, then click the Delete () icon located at the top of the window.
Refreshing Core Files Display
To refresh the Core Files table:
- Click the Diagnostics tab at the top of the WebUI.
- In the left navigation pane, click Restart Report.
- Click the Core Files tab.
- Click the refresh ( ) icon located in upper right-hand corner of the Core Files table.
