Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) is a central part of cloud-computing platform, Amazon Web Services (AWS). It provides scalable computing capacity in the AWS cloud. Using Amazon EC2 eliminates the need to invest in hardware, so you can develop and deploy applications faster. You can use Amazon EC2 to launch any number of servers required, configure security and networking, and manage storage. It also allows to scale up or down to handle changes in requirements or spikes in popularity, reducing the need to forecast traffic.

For more information on Amazon EC2, refer to Amazon EC2 documentation.

This section outlines the different methods used to create an SBC SWe instance on the Amazon EC2 cloud platform.

Note

Sonus recommends installing the SBC SWe using a CFN template. For more information on instantiating SBC SWe using a CFN template, refer to Using CloudFormation Template.
