Use the following workflow to set up a new Edge 8000 device for standalone service. This workflow applies to all Edge 8000 devices – including the 8100 and 8300 models – selected for standalone service. (Refer to Workflow for Initial Setup - High Availability for deploying high-availability on a pair of Edge 8000 devices.)
Prerequisites Refer to First-Time Login Passwords for the initial (default) passwords.

Notes: Upon initial login, the system instructs you to change the password. Refer to First-Time Login Passwords for the initial (default) passwords. The Edge 8000 device comes factory-installed with an on-premise, virtual machine (VM) version of SBC SWe Edge. Follow the instructions in the document Obtaining and Installing an SBC SWe Edge Production Node-Locked License to order a production license for an on-premise VM license, then generate and install the license per the procedure given in that document.
