The following topics give first-time login (default) passwords and instructions for changing the account passwords after the first login.

First-Time Login Passwords

Upon initial login, the system instructs you to change the password. The following passwords are for one-time use only and are not valid after the first login:

Edge 8000 Default Passwords

Change the Password of an Edge 8000 CLI Account

Prerequisites

• Login access to the Edge 8000 command line interface (CLI).

Start

Enter the following command:

passwd

The new password must meet the following criteria:

• at least 12 characters
• at least one non-alphanumeric character
• at least one digit
• at least one lowercase letter

Change the Password of an Edge 8000 GUI Account

Prerequisites

• Login access to the Edge 8000 web-based user interface (webUI) as user administrator (admin).

Start

1. Navigate to User Management.
2. Select the account you wish to change.
3. Change the password.
4. Click Save.

The new password must meet the following criteria:

• at least 8 characters
• at least one non-alphanumeric character
• at least one digit
• at least one lowercase letter
• at least one uppercase letter

Change the Password of an SBC SWe Edge GUI Account

Prerequisites

• Login access to the SBC SWe Edge web-based user interface (webUI) as user administrator (admin).

Start

1. Select the Settings tab.
2. Navigate to Security > Users > Local User Management.
3. Select the account you wish to change.
4. Click Reset Password.
5. Change the password.
6. Click Ok.
