In this section:

The purpose of this feature to allow the Ribbon Signaling Gateway (SG) to support license- dependant proprietary Internet Protocol Server Process (IPSP) linksets. These links are provisioned at MTP3.

IPSP links are provisioned for loadshare across four routes of equal cost (refer to Configuring Four Equal Cost Routes).

The messages, as defined in the M3UA RFC, are in M3UA format on IPSP links and are transmitted using Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP). Each Routing VM (Routing CPU) supports 500 SCTP Associations. The state of these links can be either up or down after the linkset is activated. A linkset that contains IPSP links cannot contain any other link type.

In the Web UI, an attribute is provided to enable operation as either an M3UA IPSP Client or an M3UA IPSP Server. This attribute determines if the links within the linkset initiate or respond to M3UA ASP UP and M3UA ASP ACTIVE procedures.

Note

The linkset attributes determine the operation mode for all links within the respective linkset.
