A Generic Link can be Internet Protocol Signaling Point (IPSP) Link, M3UA Media Gateway (MG) Link, M3UA SG Link, or M3UA Server Link. These link types are customer-proprietary links. The links are M2PA-like in their network function but use an M3UA-like message format.
Note
Generic Links support IPv4 addresses, IPv6 addresses, and hostnames.
Hostnames must resolve to either IPv4 or IPv6 addresses, or a combination of both address types.
Note
The SP2000 Platforms do not support IPv6 addresses or M3UA Server Links.
