In this section:

The DSC uses Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) or Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) to send and receive Diameter messages. The SCTP Parameter Set object allows you to configure SCTP-related attributes if the default attributes are not as required.

Caution

It is recommended that you do not change the SCTP attribute default values. Use the procedure in this section only if you are instructed to do so by Customer Support.

SCTP parameters only apply if the underlying transport is SCTP.  As per GSMA IR.88 section 3.1.2 Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP), these parameters are different for single-homed and multi-homed associations.

For details about the meaning of the configurable SCTP parameters, refer to Configuring SCTP Parameters.
