The DSC Platform dual server configuration has been designed for two servers that are physically connected to each other to ensure hardware redundancy. Inter-server communication is through the ha0 interface. Physical interfaces under ha0 virtual interface are bonded for redundancy if sufficient physical interfaces are available on the customer selected server.

Only one internal subnet (ha0) is supported in the guest VM operating system (OS).

DSC Platform provides the following Ethernet interfaces:

  • mgt0 – management interface 0

  • mgt1 – management interface 1

  • ha0 – internal interface

  • pkt0 – external data interface 0

  • pkt1 – external data interface 1

  • pkt2 – external data interface 2

  • pkt3 – external data interface 3

  • imf0 – imf interface 0

  • imf1 – imf interface 1

The Management IP network is configured on mgt0 and mgt1 interfaces. The Routing IP network is configured on pkt0, pkt1, pkt2, and pkt3 interfaces. The Integrated Monitoring Feed (IMF) IP network is configured on imf0 and imf1 interfaces.

Note

For information about the IMF, see the appropriate chapter in the SS7 Application Guide 2.

Both IPV4 and IPV6 are supported on the DSC Platform.
