The Load Balancer is an unlicensed feature comprised of two Application VMs. This feature provides an efficient way to distribute incoming network traffic across a group of back-end servers or slots. For more information about how the Load Balancer is integrated on your system, refer to Load Balancer Network Integration on Customer Network.

Before preceding with the procedures in this section, two Application VMs must be commissioned as Load Balancers. For more information on the Load Balancer and how to configure a Load Balancer, refer to Configuring Load Balancer.

Once the Application VMs are commissioned, the Virtual IP (VIP) addresses for the Load Balancer network can be configured on the Web UI under Load Balancer Network. When a VIP is configured (create/configure/delete), the networking restarts on all Routing VMs and the Load Balancer Application VMs.

Multiple VIPs can be configured on the same Load Balancer; however, the VIP can only be associated with one Load Balancer slot (not both).

The following procedures are used to create, configure or delete a Load Balancer Network.

The Load Balancer only supports IPv4 for this release.
