The EMS uses the EMS Calea user role for all LI configuration operations and the admin user for communicating over netconf to the SBC. The EMS creates the SBC Calea user credentials automatically when an SBC registers to the EMS. Distributed SBC instances are registered dynamically in the EMS.

Note

A single Call Data Channel (CDC) configuration is supported per cluster.

To configure the M-SBC LI through the CLI, refer to the following pages:

Note

For a D-SBC (S-SBC or M-SBC) cluster, configure the CLI on the OAM node for the cluster.

Prerequisites

To configure the CDC for an M-SBC instance:

Configuring CDC using the EMS Calea User Account

For LI, CDC configuration is performed using the CDC Configuration Manager through the EMS. You can create CDC information only when logged in as the EMS Calea user from the EMS CDC configuration window.

Configure Cluster CDC for M-SBC Nodes

To configure a cluster CDC for M-SBC nodes:

  1. Log into EMS as an admin user.
  2. Click Network > Cluster Management. The Cluster Management / Manage VNFs window opens listing the SBC clusters created on the EMS.

    EMS Cluster/VNF List

  3. Click the radio button adjacent to the name of the cluster you want to configure. The Details tab for the selected cluster opens by default.
  4. Click the Configurations tab.

    Cluster Configurations Tab

  5. Click Edit Configuration. The SBC Configuration Manager opens in a separate window against the cluster's active OAM node.
  6. Launch another EMS session as the Calea user.
  7. Under Monitoring, click Lawful Intercept. The Lawful Intercept window is displayed.
  8. Click Cluster CDC. The Lawful Intercept/Cluster CDC window is displayed.

    Lawful Intercept/Cluster CDC

  9. Select the M-SBC cluster.
  10. Click Launch CDC Configuration Manager. The SBC Configuration Manager window is displayed.

Creating a Call Data Channel for the M-SBC (Default, IMS, and PCSI LI)

The SBC SWe provides the ability to configure the IP address, TCP port, and other parameters used for communication towards the mediation server.

Note

The M-SBC supports only one CDC. You will receive an error message if you try to create a CDC when a CDC already exists.

To create a new call data channel:

  1. Perform the Configure Cluster CDC for M-SBC Nodes procedure.
  2. In the SBC Configuration Manager window of the Calea user, navigate to ConfigurationIntercept > Call Data Channel. The Call Data Channel window is displayed.

    Call Data Channel Window

  3. Select default from the Address Context drop-down menu. You can configure LI using the default Address Context only.

  4. Click New Call Data Channel. The Create New Call Data Channel window is displayed.

  5. Configure the Create New Call Data Channel panel for either the default, IMS, or PCSI LI. For descriptions of the parameters in the following tables, refer to Intercept - Call Data Channel.
    • To configure the CDC for the default LI, use the following table.

      Note

You cannot create or modify mediation servers for an M-SBC with a default LI. Since you cannot create mediation servers, you cannot configure the media TCP or media UDP for a default LI.

For M-SBCs with a default LI, you can configure only the CDC. In the CDC configuration, you provide the IP Address and Port details.
