The Sonus SBC 1000/2000 platform supports user created VLANs. User created VLANs are restricted to the range: 2 – 3999. When a VLAN is created, the Sonus SBC 1000/2000 automatically creates a logical interface with the name VLAN <VLAN-ID> IP. For example, when VLAN 100 is created, a logical interface named VLAN 100 IP is also created. This logical interface is then used for IP layer communication for the VLAN. More information on VLAN logical interfaces can be found in the Configuring and Modifying Logical Interfaces section. Also note, that in order for a VLAN to be active in the system, you must associate it with one or more Ethernet ports. More information on ports and VLAN associations can be found in the Managing Ethernet Ports section.
