This chapter explains the basic configuration settings of the ZTP functionality. To implement Zero Touch Provisioning for your EdgeMarc devices, you must first create policies that are then pushed to selected devices through auto-provisioning. The following section details the functions and the use of ZTP parameters.

Policies

Policies allow you to define your EdgeMarc  device's configuration parameters. You can add, edit, and remove policies with the EdgeView ZTP feature.

  • Adding a new policy
  • Editing a Policy
  • Deleting a Policy


Adding a new Policy

To add a new policy, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to Provisioning > Policies. The Policies page appears.


  2. Click Add Policy  to open the Add Policy page.



  3. On the Add a Policy page, fill in the fields as detailed below:
    1. Name - Enter a policy name of your choice.
    2. Description - Enter a description for your policy.
    3. Choose Collection-Select a collection to which you want to assign the policy.  You can choose from the options that includes ABC, All devices, Edgemarcs and Unassigned.

    4. Settings - Further policy configuration settings are available here. Under the Settings select the Select Firmware to choose the policy's preferred firmware version from the drop-down list, according to the below table.

      Select Firmware Options

      Select this if no upgrade is required.

      Not less than

      Select this to upgrade your current firmware to the required version.

      Not greater than

      Select this to downgrade your current firmware to the required version.

      Must be equal to

      Select this for an exact firmware match.




        To add a new firmware repository, refer Best Practice - Upgrade EdgeMarc Firmware using EdgeView.
      1. Apply Configuration - You can either use an existing configuration or upload a new configuration file.

To use an existing configuration, select Use an existing configuration and choose the configuration from the drop-down list.

 

To upload a new Configuration File, select Upload new Configuration File. Select Click to select a file or drag it here and choose your required configuration file. You can also drag and drop the configuration file in to the  area. To alter an existing configuration, change the configuration parameter values. To know more about configuration parameter values, refer Appendix.

    4. Click Add to save the policy.

If you make configuration changes, first click Save as New Configuration and then click Add.


Editing a Policy

To edit a policy, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to Provisioning > Policies. The Policies page appears.


  2. Click Edit  . The Edit Policy page appears.


  3. Edit the necessary details under the following sections:
     
    1. Name 
    2. Description
    3. Collection
    4. Firmware
    5. Network settings
    6. Security settings
    7. Admin/Service config settings
    8. VoIP settings

      Refer Appendix for more details about the configuration parameters mentioned above.

  4. Click Save Changes to save the edited policy.

Click Save as New Configuration to add the edited policy as a new policy. To reset the configuration to default values, click Reset Configuration.

Deleting a Policy

To delete a policy, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to Provisioning > Policies. The Policies page appears.
  2. Click Delete 
  3. You are prompted to confirm deletion. Click Continue to confirm.


Auto-provisioning Device

Auto-provisioning allows you to provision various policies to a single EdgeMarc or multiple EdgeMarc devices simultaneously.

To auto-provision devices, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to Provisioning > Auto-Provision Devices. The Auto-Provision Devices page appears.
         

  2. In the Auto-Provision Devices page, fill in the fields as detailed below:
    1. Add devices to be auto-provisioned - You can either add a single EdgeMarc device or add multiple devices for auto-provisioning.
      1. Enter MAC address – Provisions a policy to an individual device. Enter the MAC address of the required device in the field given.
      2. Bulk add MAC addresses – Provisions a policy to multiple devices in the network. Upload the CSV file to add devices in bulk by selecting Click to select a file or drag it here, or drag and drop the required CSV file.


You can further customize the selected device list from the following table.


  b. Select policy to use for auto-provisioning the devices - Select the policy for auto-provisioning the devices from the drop-down list.


 

3. Click Auto-provision to confirm provisioning.

         


The devices are now auto-provisioned.
