Feature Overview

This section depicts the maximum number of sessions between two codec types on an SBC 5400 with one DSP20 card or one, two, three, or four DSP25 cards installed.

DSP density values are approximate and intended for use as a general guide when estimating transcoding capabilities. The cells highlighted in yellow may be limited by bandwidth depending upon packet size.

One DSP20

Only one DSP20 can be used in an SBC 5400, and it cannot be mixed with DSP25 cards in the same chassis.

Enabling V.8 signal analysis will further reduce densities. See V.8 Signal Analysis Support for details.

One DSP25

An SBC 5400 can be configured with up to four DSP25 cards that is 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4 DSP25s.

Enabling V.8 signal analysis will further reduce densities. See V.8 Signal Analysis Support for details.
