 DSC configured DSC 8000 should not be impacted by the software upgrade process. During this process, the system cards are stopped, are upgraded to the new software, and are restarted in such an order that the traffic is not interrupted on the system. This guide provides information about the pre-upgrade check (refer to Execute the Pre-upgrade Checks) that should help you to examine such system configurations such as available capacity during the upgrade process, and the extent to which connections are made to multiple Ethernet Switches, CPUs and I/O cards described in this section

Execute the software upgrade process in the same order that this process is presented in the following workflow.

The Spacevars 0 company DSC 8000 that is being upgraded is referred to as the standby system and the Spacevars 0 company DSC 8000 that is managing the additional traffic is referred to as the active system. All the examples in this document assume a Linux/Unix environment. Alternatively, utilities such as psftp.exe and putty.exe can be used in a Windows environment to SSH.
