  1. Choose Network > T1 Configuration.
  2. Scroll to Ports Configuration.


  3. Depending on your service provider settings, select the Enable Multilink T1 checkbox to allow bundling one or more physical T1 lines together into a single virtual pipe. If Multilink T1 is enabled, at least one physical T1 line must be also enabled. All ports selected for Data are used in the bundle. The Encapsulation, MLPPP Options, and PPP LCP Settings fields become active.
  4. Choose the Encapsulation type from the drop-down list:
    1. MLPPP: Supports HLDC, Frame Relay ANSI, and Frame Relay CCITT. See Configuring MLPP Settings.
    2. MLFR: Supports Frame Relay ANSI and CCITT. See Configuring Frame Relay Settings. 
      This selection must be the same as the method used by the service provider.
  5. Name the configured port for maintaining T1 port mapping. Maximum length is 60 characters.
  6. Select the Data checkbox to designate a port for data purposes , which is used for MLPPP bundling. T1 Data requires the lowest numbered ports, so even if you are not currently using T1 data, using higher numbered ports for PRI will eliminate any overlap of port assignmentassignments.

  7. Select the PRI checkbox to designate a T1 port for configured PRI. Ports assigned for PRI must be higher than all Data ports and will not be used for MLPPP bundling. Use the highest-numbered licensed ports for PRI. 


  8. Click Submit. Refer to Submit Configuration Changes for more information on submitting your configuration changes.

  9. You can now configure PRI settings. Refer to Configuring PRI.

  10. To clear the PRI selection, click Unassign PRI.

  1. Choose Network > T1 Configuration.
  2. Scroll to Port Configuration and enable settings in Configure T1 Ports and Configuring MLPP Settings.
  3. In PPP LCP Settings, enter a value in the LCP Timeout (seconds) field. Recommended The recommended value is 30 seconds.
  4. Enter a value in the LCP Retries field. Recommended The recommended value is 3 retries.
  5. Choose an authentication mode from the PPP Authentication Mode drop-down list.
  6. Click Submit to save your settings.

  1. Choose Network > T1 Configuration.

  4. Choose MLFR from the Encapsulation drop-down list.
  5. Assign port Data and PRI settings as described in Configure T1 Ports.  
  6. Select the Frame Relay Mode equipment type radio button:
    1. DCE
    2. DTE: Typical setting

  7. Enter a value in the Frame Relay DLCI field. The DLCI value is supplied by the T1 service provider and is used to identify the connection in the link data stream. Values 0-15 and 1023 are reserved and should not be used.
  8. Click Submit to save your settings.

  1. Select the Enable Secondary DLCI check-box checkbox and click Submit.
  2. On the T1 Configuration page, click the WLR link in Frame Relay Secondary Settings and enable settings on the WAN Link Redundancy page. You can also choose Network > WAN Failover and refer to Configuring WAN Failover
  3. Click Submit on the WAN Link Redundancy page.
  4. Return to the T1 Configuration page and click the Secondary WAN Interface link in Frame Relay Secondary Settings. You can also choose Network > WAN Failover > Secondary WAN and refer to Configure Secondary WAN Settings.
  5. On the Secondary WAN Interface page, select Virtual Link and enter the IP address, Network Mask, and gateway for the secondary DLCI.
    The PVC formed by the secondary DLCI is used for voice services, and the Primary DLCI is used for data services, allowing the service provider to provide appropriate treatment to voice and data.
  6. Click Submit on the Secondary WAN Interface page.
  7. Return to the T1 Configuration page and enter a value in the Secondary DLCI field.
  8. Click Submit. Refer to Submit Configuration Changes for more information on submitting your configuration changes.
