Overview

When reconfiguring the Sonus SBC 1000/2000 by replacing an interface card with another type of interface card (e.g., replacing an E1/T1 card with an FSX card), references to the old card must be deleted from various portions of the Sonus SBC 1000/2000 configuration.

Procedure

The procedure for replacing a line card comprises the following steps:

  1. Replace the interface cards using the procedure described in Inserting and Removing Interface Cards.
  2. Remove any dependencies Signaling Groups and Routing Tables.
    1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
    2. In the left navigation pane, go to Signaling Groups > [ISDN or CAS Signaling Group]
    3. Delete the old ports from any ISDN or CAS Signaling Groups. For more information see, Creating and Modifying CAS Signaling Groups and Creating and Modifying ISDN Signaling Groups for more information
  3. Delete the old ports from the Port Table.
    1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
    2. In the left navigation pane, go to Node Interfaces > Ports.
    3. Delete the old ports (those with a service status of Unknown(). For more information see, Managing Telephony Ports

      To delete an entry, select the checkbox next to the entry and then click the Delete () icon.

  4. Reboot the Sonus SBC 1000/2000.

After a successful reboot of the Sonus SBC 1000/2000, the new ports and port types should be displayed in the Port Table View page.
