Overview

The Sonus SBC 2000 FXS Interface Card comprises 24 FXS interfaces on a single RJ-21 connector. The Sonus SBC 2000 supports up to a maximum of 48 FXS ports using two FXS Interface Cards.

The last pair of the RJ-21 connector (pins 25 and 50) are routed to an isolated contact to be used for a future feature.

Circuit Protection

Protection circuits are included on the FXS card. The FXS circuit on the SBC 2000 meets the requirements of UL/EN60950.

The FXS circuits also include fusing and protection devices to comply with the following:

  • Telcordia GR-1089
  • ITU-T K.20/K.21

Installation and Service

The Sonus SBC 2000 FXS Interface card have no user serviceable components. Installation and removal of of the Sonus SBC 2000 FXS Interface Card from the chassis should only be performed by qualified service personnel.
