The DSI (T1/E1) Interface card is a TNV1 compliant digital interface card, which in integrated into the Main Board. This card has board-mounted protection circuits for electrical isolation and protection against power crossing, lightning surges and hazardous voltages. The Sonus SBC 1000 accommodates the following:

  • SBC 1000 - 1 DS1 (T1/E1) interface card and up to 2 T1/E1 ports
  • SBC 1000v2 - 2 DS1 (T1/E1) interface cards and up to 4 T1/E1 ports

T1/E1 cards on the SBC 1000 are factory installed and can only be upgraded by Sonus-trained service personnel.

The DSI (T1/E1) Interface card includes a bypass relay (incoming-PRI-to-outgoing-PRI) that latches in the event of a power loss. Refer to Configuring Powerdown Telephony Passthrough for configuration details.

Do not remove the top panel of the Sonus SBC 1000 chassis. Operating the Sonus SBC 1000 system with the top panel removed will cause hardware components to overheat and fail. Unauthorized removal of the top panel will void your product warranty and service agreement.
