The SBC Edge Routes IP traffic to a NIC based on the Subnet to which the NIC and the traffic belong. If the destination address is on the same subnet as the NIC, then that NIC will receive the traffic.

Example:

The SBC Edge receives traffic with a destination address of 192.168.2.9. For the traffic to be routed to the endpoint, two valid conditions must exist.
(warning) There must exist a (1) valid Static Route which contains a gateway on a (2) subnet defined for one of the SBC Edge NICs.

In this example, see the figure below, the call with a destination IP of 192.168.2.9 is received and matches the static route specifying anything with a destination subnet of 192.168.2.x is routed to the gateway address 192.168.0.1, which is on the same network as the NIC with an address of 192.168.0.5/255.255.255.0.
