The following must be executed prior to installing SBC SWe Edge on Microsoft Hyper-V: From Microsoft Windows Device Manager, disable the VLAN and VM Queues to improve network performance. Select the Advanced tab. The following steps may not be applicable to some Windows versions, and should be skipped if the Virtual Machines Queues and VMQ LAN Filtering options are not present in the Property field. Perform the following steps for each network adapter. Refer to Microsoft TechNet for additional details about Microsoft Hyper-V installed on a host or hosts allocated for the SBC SWe Edge. Figures in this section represent typical installations, values in specific fields and file names may vary in your location. Select Import Virtual Machine from the Action drop-down menu. Click Browse and navigate to the SBCSWeLite-hyperv folder containing the VM to import, then click Next. Select the VM to import from the Select Virtual Machine dialog box, and then click Next. Select Copy the virtual machine (create a new unique ID) option, and then click Next. The default settings are displayed in the Choose Destination dialog box. Leave all locations in the default state, and click Next. Click Next to store the virtual hard disks in the default folder, or click Browse to designate a different folder, and then click Next. Click Next to proceed to the Summary dialog box. Click Finish. After the image is copied, if desired, rename the VM with the intended SBC SWe Edge host name by selecting Rename in the SBC SWeLite section of the Actions pane. Select the renamed VM and then click Settings in the Actions list. Select the Virtual Switch that is appropriate for your location. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the remaining four adapters. Click OK to save and exit the Settings window. Right click on the VM name and then select Start. Double-click on the VM name to monitor the startup progress and identify the initial Admin IP address. Ribbon recommends that all customers review and, if necessary, optimize their Network Interface configurations before proceeding. Failure to do so could lead to interface mapping issues.
