The SBC Core supports Multi-Country LI (MCLI) on the IMS LI flavor. While configuring CDC, under Mediation Server 'Signaling,' a new configuration dfGroupname is provided. The PSX will also send targets along with the dfgroupname field when sending policy responses. When a PSX response indicates a target to intercept, the SBC intercepts the target if the dfGroupName matches any of the mediation servers configured in the CDC. The dfGroupName match is done with all targets received from the PSX.

The SBC, in turn, matches each target received from the PSX response with all configured mediation servers; however, if none of the mediation servers contain an identically configured dfGroupName value, interception does not occur.

The SBC now treats ingress and egress interceptions separately. Thus, the SBC may select different mediation servers for the ingress and egress interceptions of the same call.

Note

A configured empty (or Null) dfGroupName is also treated as a valid DF Group Name.

The SBC selects the mediation server with a dfGroupName match as shown below:

When multiple mediation servers include the same DFGroupName, the SBC selects them in round-robin manner.

If both legs are intercepted for a Registration/OOD call and an SBC downgrade is performed, the egress leg interception may get affected and require adjustment.

The SBC is enhanced to support multiple CALEA users to align with RAMP. For MCLI, "calea" users from different countries can push the targets to the respective X1 interfaces.

Steps to configure multiple 'calea' users.

  1. Create the primary calea user "calea" as admin user.

The SBC CNe does not support multiple Mediation Servers. However, this feature is supported with a single mediation server.

The RAMP supports the DF Group Name field to differentiate the targets from different regions in the X1 interface.

Each county has its own Law Enforcement Agency (LEA) and provisions the targets independently. CALEA deployments share a single RAMP and PSX Primaries. If multiple PSX primaries exist, the RAMP distributes the LI information to all of them.
