Launch the remote console JViewer application on your PC using a supported web browser to connect to the SBC host console remotely. The Remote Console is mainly used to re-install the ConnexIP Operating System or access the host server remotely. The default network ports used by BMC system controller are listed on the page SBC Core Network Listener Ports. These ports are not configurable and are fixed for use by the BMC. Depending on your network these ports may need to be configured as part of your router or firewall configuration. When using the Java Console, ensure that Java version 8 (or lower) is installed on the target machine. The SBC does not support higher than version 8. The following prerequisites allow you to use your PC as a remote console: To support network security, IE blocks the website from downloading files to your computer and this creates a problem in opening the remote console using IE8 or later. By default, the JViewer remote console is disabled in the BMC GUI as indicated with the red text on the Dashboard screen. During the procedure below, you will enable JViewer in the Network Settings screen to rectify this. Log onto the SBC BMC GUI. The BMC main screen displays. Navigate to Configuration > Network. The Network Settings screen displays. Select Enable JViewer and click Save. When prompted with a Success message, click OK to continue. Navigate to Dashboard tab and click Launch. A security warning dialog displays. Accept the risk and click Run to launch the JViewer remote console. The JViewer screen displays. To enhance SBC Platform security, log on to JViewer Console using your 'linuxadmin' credentials. Direct 'root' access is no longer supported.
