Problem Description

The session capacity estimate values are different in Active and Standby VMs during the LSWU upgrade of the 1:1 SWe HA pair.

Problem Identification

  1. Check the following file on Active and Standby VMs to confirm the occurrence of the issue once you complete the 1:1 SWe HA to LSWU upgrade:

/opt/sonus/conf/swe/capacityEstimates/.callsEstimate.txt

2. Observe the content is different in Active and Standby.

Recovery Procedure

Once the LSWU upgrade is completed and the Active (VM-A) and the Standby (VM-B) VMs are synchronized, perform the following steps to ensure the session capacity estimates are identical in Active (VM-A) and Standby (VM-B) VMs:

  1. Reboot the Standby (VM-B) VM.
  2. Observe the Standby (VM-B) VM turns on with correct session estimates.
  3. Wait for the application synchronization completion.
  4. Reboot the Active (VM-A) VM and observe this action results in application failover.
  5. Observe the application runs on the Standby (VM-B) VM gains the active role.
  6. Observe the Active (VM-A) VM turns on with the correct session estimates and synchronizes with the application running on the Standby (VM-B) VM.
