The Ribbon Life-Cycle Manager (LCM) is used to automate instantiation and Upgrade of SBC instances in AWS. The Ribbon LCM runs on a standard RHEL/Centos/Ubuntu or Debian instance which the customer is required to maintain. The Ribbon LCM is composed of a set of script files.

To locate the AMI ID of a Linux image in your region, refer to the following steps:
- Navigate to the EC2 Management Console for the region in which you plan to launch the HFE and SBC.
- Click on Launch Instance.
The Choose an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) screen displays. - Locate the Amazon Linux 2 AMI (HVM), SSD Volume Type image in the list, and then copy and save the 64-bit x86 AMI ID locally for use later when deploying the LCM.
