Use the following steps to set up OpenWebStart to start the ISO install process via the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC):

  • This procedure is applicable only for 32-bit OpenWebStart with 32-bit JVM plugin. You cannot use it with 64-bit OpenWebStart, or 64-bit OpenWebStart with 32-bit plugin, or vice versa.
  • These steps are are tested only on Windows 10, 64-bit Operating systems.
  1. Download and install OpenWebStart from https://openwebstart.com/download/.
  2. Download the AdoptOpenJDK plugin for Java console from https://github.com/AdoptOpenJDK/openjdk8-binaries/releases/download/jdk8u282-b08/OpenJDK8U-jdk_x86-32_windows_hotspot_8u282b08.zip and extract it.
  3. Add the AdoptOpenJDK plugin.
  4. Open OpenWebStart Settings > JVM manager.
  5. Go to Settings.
  6. Update Strategy as “Do not download any version” and click OK.
  7. In the JVM manager, click Add local and choose the “jre” folder extracted from the jdk zip file. You can see the AdoptOpenJDK plugin in the JVM Manager.
  8. Click Apply > OK.
  9. Download the jnlp file from the BMC Web UI and open it from the OpenWebStart application.

    Note

    Multiple security warnings related to the site's https certificate and the application's digital signature appear before you can proceed. Ensure that you verify them and provide adequate permissions when prompted.
