In this section:

Use this parameter to define the offending event characteristics and the trigger event type.

On the SBC main screen, navigate to All > Profiles > Services > Enhanced DBL Profile > Rule > Criteria > Offending Event.

The Offending Event window is displayed.

Select the Enhanced DBL Profile and Rule from the respective dropdown lists.

The Edit Offending Event window is displayed.Select the value for the parameter Trigger Event Type from it's dropdown list.

The parameters displayed in the Edit Offending Event window varies, based on the value selected for the parameter Trigger Event Type.

Trigger Event Type set to Bad SIP Message

Trigger Event Type set to Receipt of Message

Method Resp

The failure response code(s) of the offending event for the given method, which is sent towards the endpoint.

  • 400-699 – Enter a single code, or enter multiple codes within square brackets and separating each entry with a space. For example, [ 403 504 606 ].
  • All – Include all response codes from 400-699.

  • All4x0x – Include all 4xx response codes.

  • All5xx – Include all 5xx response codes.

  • All6xx – Include all 6xx response codes.

Note: This parameter is displayed only when the value of the parameter Trigger Event Type is set Receipt of Message.

Trigger Event Type

The type of offending trigger events.

  • Authentication Timeout -  An authentication timeout is a trigger event where an authentication response request for the 401/407 is not received from an endpoint. 
  • Bad SIP Message - The bad SIP message event is a trigger event where the SBC receives a SIP PDU, which is malformed according to the parsing rules. 
  • Receipt of Message - The receipt of a message event is a trigger event where the endpoint receives the configured response code for the configured method from the SBC.

The offending method type.

  • INVITE
  • MESSAGE
  • NOTIFY
  • OPTIONS
  • PRACK
  • PUBLISH
  • REFER
  • REGISTER (default)
  • SUBSCRIBE
  • UPDATE

Note: This parameter is not displayed when the value of the parameter Trigger Event Type is set Bad SIP Message. 

Make necessary changes and click Save to save the changes. Click Undo Edits to cancel the changes.
