This section provides instructions to perform the actions mentioned above on EdgeMarc devices via the EdgeView. To perform these actions in EdgeView, follow the steps mentioned below:
Choose Devices > List.
The EdgeMarc devices list appears.
Select the EdgeMarc device on which you want to perform the required action. The device Overview page appears.
NoteIf a device generates an alarm, a warning icon appears corresponding to that device both on the Device List page and Device Details page.
Apply Collection Policy
Apply Collection Policy is active only when you make changes to the Policy of a Collection (to which the device belongs), or when you move the device to a Collection with a different policy.
Apply Collection Policy is not active for EdgeMarc 300 Series devices as they are ATA devices.
Use Apply Collection Policy to push the new Policy changes to the device.
On the Device Overview page under the ACTIONS menu, select Apply Collection Policy.
You are prompted to confirm this action.
Select CONTINUE to apply to the new policy changes to the device.
Configure
Modified: for 16.2.2
Configure Device option is enabled for EdgeMarc 300 series devices.
To configure the selected device, perform the steps given below:
On the Device Overview page under the ACTIONS menu, select Configure Device.
The Configure Devices page appears.
NoteTo push new configurations to an EdgeMarc 300 series device, the only option available is Click to select a file or drag it here option. Configure Parameters option is not available for EdgeMarc 300 series devices.
NoteFor EdgeMarc 300 series devices, the Bulk Configuration action requires all the selected devices to be EdgeMarc 300 devices. All the EdgeMarc 300 series devices get listed under Excluded Devices when included with other devices for Bulk Configuration.
Make the necessary configuration changes.
TipYou can also push a complete configuration from EdgeView 15 or higher to an EdgeMarc. Select Click to select a file or drag it here to push new configurations to an EdgeMarc.
TipRefer to Configuring Parameter Values for details with configuring parameter values.
- Schedule when to configure your device by selecting Perform Now or Perform Later. If you decide to perform the configuration later, enter the following details:
- Schedule Name – Enter a schedule name of your choice.
- Date and Time – Enter the date and time when the configuration is to be performed.
Time Zone – Choose whether time is to be calculated based on Local Time Zone or UTC.
Once you make the necessary changes, select CONFIGURE 1 DEVICE. You are prompted to confirm configuration changes.
- Select CONFIGURE NOW to configure the selected device.
If you scheduled this action to be performed at a later point in time, you can edit this action at any point before the scheduled time. To edit, go to Jobs > Scheduled Jobs and click the Edit icon corresponding to this action. For more details on scheduling and editing a job, refer to Scheduling Jobs in EdgeView.
Configure SD-WAN
Configure SD-WAN is not active for EdgeMarc 300 Series devices as they are ATA devices.
To perform SD-WAN configuration, follow the steps given below:
On the Device Overview page under the ACTIONS menu, select Configure SD-WAN.
The Configure SD-WAN page appears.
Make the necessary configuration changes and then select CONFIGURE SD-WAN ON 1 DEVICE to save the changes.

Configure VLAN
Configure VLAN is not active for EdgeMarc 300 Series devices as they are ATA devices.
To perform VLAN configuration, follow the steps given below:
On the Device Overview page under the ACTIONS menu, select Configure VLAN.
The Configure VLAN page appears.
- Click ADD to add a new VLAN
Configure PoE
This action is available only for Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices.
To configure PoE, perform the steps given below:
On the Device Overview page under the ACTIONS menu, select Configure PoE.
The Configure PoE page appears.
Make the necessary configuration changes.
Refer to PoE Configuration Parameter Values to see in detail the PoE configuration parameter values.
Once you make the necessary changes, CONFIGURE POE. You are prompted to confirm PoE configuration changes.
- Select CONFIGURE NOW to configure PoE.
Open Device GUI
To open EdgeMarc device GUI, perform the steps given below:
On the Device Overview page under the ACTIONS menu, select Open Device GUI.
A new browser tab opens.
NoteEdgeView does not support multiple concurrent sessions of Open Device GUI.
Upgrade
To perform the upgrade, follow the steps given below:
On the Device Overview page under the ACTIONS menu, select Upgrade Firmware.
The Upgrade Firmware page appears.
Under the Included Devices table, select the firmware version to which you want to upgrade the device.
TipEnable the Send notification once Upgrade is completed check-box if you want to receive notifications.
- Schedule when to upgrade your firmware by selecting Perform Now or Perform Later. If you decide to perform the upgrade later, enter the following details:
- Schedule Name – Enter a schedule name of your choice.
- Date and Time – Enter the date and time when the upgrade is to be performed.
Time Zone – Choose whether time is to be calculated based on Local Time Zone or UTC.
Click UPGRADE 1 DEVICE. You are prompted to confirm the upgrade.
- Select UPGRADE NOW to upgrade the selected device.
If you scheduled this action to be performed at a later point in time, you can edit this action at any point before the scheduled time. To edit, go to Jobs > Scheduled Jobs and click the Edit icon corresponding to this action. For more details on scheduling and editing a job, refer to Scheduling Jobs in EdgeView.
Edit
To edit your device, perform the steps given below:
On the Device Overview page under the ACTIONS menu, select Edit Device.
The Edit Device dialog box appears.
- Edit the Name and Description and click SAVE.
Move
To move your device, perform the steps given below:
On the Device Overview page under the ACTIONS menu, select Move to Collection.
The Move to Collection page appears.
Choose the collection to which you want to move the selected device.
TipEnable the Send notification once Upgrade is completed check-box if you want to receive notifications.
- Select MOVE 1 DEVICE once you chose a collection.
Delete
To delete devices, perform the steps given below:
On the Device Overview page under the ACTIONS menu, select Delete Device.
The Delete Devices page appears.
Select DELETE 1 DEVICE to delete the device. You are prompted to confirm the deletion.
- Select DELETE NOW to delete the selected device.
PURGE DEVICE
Purge Device removes a device from EdgeView. A new simple configuration will be pushed to the device to reset the EMPath Management Server so that the device will not attempt to re-register with the EdgeView it is being purged from. All data related to the device will be purged from EdgeView.
To perform Purge Device, follow the steps given below:
a. On the Device Overview page under the ACTIONS menu, select Purge Device.
Run Health Report
Run Health Report is not active for EdgeMarc 300 Series devices as they are ATA devices.
To Run Health Report, perform the steps given below:
On the Device Overview page under the ACTIONS menu, select Run Health Report.
The Run Health Report page appears.
Select RUN HEALTH REPORT FOR 1 DEVICE to run health reports. You are prompted to confirm the health report run.
Click RUN HEALTH REPORT NOW to run the health report.
Backup
To back up the selected device, perform the following steps:
On the Device Overview page under the ACTIONS menu, select Backup Configuration.
The Backup Configuration page appears.
TipEnable the Send notification once Upgrade is completed check-box if you want to receive notifications.
Select BACKUP 1 DEVICE to backup your device. You are prompted to confirm backup.
- Select BACKUP NOW to backup the selected device.
You can edit this action at a later point in time. To edit, go to Jobs > Scheduled Jobs and click the Edit icon corresponding to this action. For more details on scheduling and editing a job, refer to Scheduling Jobs in EdgeView.
Restore
You can restore your device to a previous backup point using this action. In order to restore your device to a previous backup point, you must have your EdgeMarc device backed up earlier.
You can only restore your EdgeMarc device to available backup points.
To restore the selected EdgeMarc device, perform the following steps:
On the Device Overview page under the ACTIONS menu, select Restore Configuration.
The Restore Configuration page appears.
In the Included Devices table, choose the backup point to which you want to restore the device.
TipEnable the Send notification once Upgrade is completed check-box if you want to receive notifications.
Select RESTORE 1 DEVICE to backup your device. You are prompted to confirm the restore operation.
- Select RESTORE NOW to restore the selected device.
Change Passwords
To change the password, perform the steps given below:
On the Device Overview page under the ACTIONS menu, select Change Passwords.
The Change Passwords page appears.
You can change one or all of the following fields:
- Root Password
- GUI User Root
- GUI User Rouser
Select Set all as and then Root Password, GUI User Root and/or GUI User Rouser.
NoteThe password must contain alphanumeric and special characters and should be 6 to 8 characters in length.
Once you make the necessary changes, click CHANGE PASSWORD FOR 1 DEVICE. You are prompted to confirm the password change.
- Select CHANGE PASSWORD NOW to change the password(s) of the selected device.
Reboot
To perform a reboot, follow the steps given below:
On the Device Overview page under the ACTIONS menu, select Reboot.
The Reboot Devices page appears.
TipEnable the Send notification once Upgrade is completed check-box if you want to receive notifications.
Click REBOOT 1 DEVICE. You are prompted to confirm the reboot.
- Click REBOOT NOW to reboot the selected device.
You can edit this action at a later point in time. To edit, go to Jobs > Scheduled Jobs and click the Edit icon corresponding to this action. For more details on scheduling and editing a job, refer to Scheduling Jobs in EdgeView.
