Securing the Cabinet to the Floor

The DSC Platform cabinet installation must meet the GR63-CORE or equivalent standard. However, the installation, including floor preparations with the appropriate installation safety guidelines, must also be performed according to local code of the installation site and the completed installation must be inspected by the qualified local authorities.

Please refer to the following sections for different floor installations.

Installing the DSC Platform on a Concrete Floor

The recommended concrete expansion anchor is Hilti Model HSL-I M12 that should be installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The concrete expansion anchors used for mounting the cabinet to the floor must be suitable for earthquake (dynamic) applications, as specified by the manufacturer of these anchors.

The concrete expansion anchors should meet the following requirements:

• Maximum embedment depth of 90 mm (3.5 in)
• Maximum bolt diameter of 13 mm (0.5 in).

To maintain proper airflow, the clearance in front of the cabinet must be minimum 91cm (3 feet) and the rear of the cabinet 61 cm (2 feet).

The typical spacing between the shelves is approximately 13 mm (0.5 inch).

Installing the DSC Platform on a Raised Floor

Install theDSC Platform  on a raised floor using the appropriate expansion anchors and according to the anchor manufacturer’s instructions. An example assembly of such an anchor is illustrated in the following figure.

The expansion anchors used for mounting the cabinet to the floor must be suitable for earthquake (dynamic) applications, as specified by the manufacturer of these anchors.
