Multihomed configurations include one M2PA link that uses two IP paths (see the following figure).

In the example shown in the following figure, the M2PA link is indicated with signaling link code SLC=0. If one of the case one of the IP paths fails, the Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) manages the traffic and redistributes this traffic to one of the other IP paths. The link status remains unaffected and the M2PA State indicates IN_SERVICE.

Multihomed Configuration (Example)


In the following figure shows the Web UI with the system provisioned for a multihomed configuration. In this configuration, the M2PA link uses two IP paths (Local IP Address 1 and Local IP Address 2).
