Message Transfer Part Level 3 Broadband (MTP3B) is configured at the NA and at the linkset level for the supported link types. These link types are MTP2-User Peer-to-Peer Adaptation Layer (M2PA) and MTP2 User Adaptation Layer (M2UA). The range for the maximum number of bytes allowed, including routing label and Service information Octet (SIO), is 273 to 4092 bytes. The value should remain at the default of 273 in the Web UI unless the NA is meant to support MTP3B with long Message Signaling Units (MSUs).
MTP3B messages are forwarded to destinations that also support this MSU length. If a particular destination is not supported, then applicable alarms are raised and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) traps are sent.
