Note

The following section is only applicable to the DSC 8000, the DSC SWe (on MA-RMS), the Signaling Platform 2000 (SP2000), and the virtual SP2000 (on MA-RMS).

The Signaling Link Code SLC uniquely identifies a link in a linkset. The SLC is a number from 0-15. If you want to change the SLC for an existing link, you must remove the existing link and then create a new link with the correct information.

You must configure the LS link specific cage (chassis), slot (chassis slot), and channel (signaling channel) for SS7 connectivity. The channel mapping associates a specific LS Link to a specific channel on a particular SS7 interface card. This association connects the LS Link to the specific timeslot, port, and signaling channel that is already connected to the SS7 network.

Caution

When you are configuring an LS Link, the Cage attribute must match the Cage ID or one of the L2 Connections. For information about L2 Connections, refer to Configuring L2 Connections.

The Ribbon Signaling System displays status messages for L2 and L3 State. For information about these messages, refer to the DSC - SP2000 Platform Manager User Guide.
