For each Level 4 connection, you can view a listing of user parts that are currently registered at the DSC Platform. In particular, you can see an entry with an SI of 3 for the connection between the SCCP and MTP3 for the Local Point Code (LPC). The only point codes that can be registered with the given NA are the LPC and VPCs (if VNodes are configured). The Signaling Indicator (SI) attribute shows which service is requested. An SI of 5 indicates an ISUP user, and an SI of 3 indicates an SCCP user. The SI is also indicated after the dash in the Context attribute.

If your SCCP user registers for VPC 001.002.023 using an SSN of 6, a Registered UP is displayed associated with the SCCP connection for SI 3 and PC 001.002.023. When another SCCP user registers for that point code using a different SSN, no additional Registered UPs are created. The registration for that MTP User Part already exists.

The same principle can be applied to ISUP CIC-based ASPs registering with the Signaling Gateway. For example, if the CIC-based ASP registers with point code 001.002.023 with a CIC range of 0 - 0x00ff, a Registered UP is displayed on the MTP L4 Connection to the Signaling Gateway for SI 5 and PC 001.002.023. All subsequent ASP registrations for that point code using different CIC ranges do not cause more registrations.

The following figure shows the Registered User Part Configuration screen for a registered user from the SCCP. The screen for ISUP CIC-based users from the Signaling Gateway are similar.
