You can view the network interface information for all CPU cards.

Note

You can configure the IP/SCTP packet [also referred to as Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) size (in bytes)] for the DSC 8000 routing interfaces to best suit your unique networking environment. For more information, refer to Configuring the IP/SCTP Packet Size.

This feature is not supported for the Management and Application CPUs. The MTU for these interfaces is set by the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to 1500 bytes by default that cannot be changed.

To view network interfaces

  1. From the Main Menu, click IP Networking.

  2. Using the Network Interfaces on drop-down list, select the card whose interfaces you want to view.

  3. Click Update.

To reconfigure the DSC 8000 hostname and domain name

  1. From the Main Menu, click IP Networking.

  2. Click Network Interfaces.

  3. Click Network Information.

  4. Enter the hostname and domain for the DSC 8000 as required.

    Tip

You can assign a hostname to the DSC 8000 using either Management CPU card (slot 2 or 13). The software automatically appends this hostname to all other CPU cards.

  5. Click Save and Restart Networking.
