In this section:

Response identifier represents the effect of an event on the signaling messages. Response is associated with an error condition that is detected by the service handler or an event that is returned from an applied service (see the following figure).

  1. Select CONFIGURATION > SS7 DB Application from the launcher tree.

  2. Select Service Handlers tab.

  3. Select the desired service handler template node from the left pane.

    The Response identifiers displayed differ depending on the selected service handler.


AIN Info Analyzed Response Identifiers

Analyze Route

Use the Analyze Route node to define the contents of the AIN analyze route message. The analyze route message is used to change the behavior of the service algorithm.

  1. Select CONFIGURATION > SS7 DB Application from the launcher tree.

  2. Select Service Handlers tab.

  3. Click Analyze Route response identifier node under the desired service handler template node in the left pane. The Analyze Route response identifier node displays the Analyze Route middle pane contents and Analyze Route right pane contents.

Analyze Route Middle Pane Contents

Name

Name of the Analyze Route response identifier. The valid range is 1-20 ASCII ([a-z], [A-Z], [0-9], -, ., _, and space) characters.


Called Party ID

Name of the called party. This field refers to an entry in the Called Party ID table. Double-click the text box to display the referenced column help window that lists the already configured Called Party IDs. For more information about the reference column help, see Referenced Column Help Window.

Status

The status of a created or modified record. If a record is created or modified but not committed to the database, the Status column displays Edited or New. If a record is modified and committed successfully to the database, the Status column displays Success. If the modified record is not successfully committed to the database, the Status column displays Failure and the reason for the failure is displayed if you move the mouse over the status column. If invalid values are entered, the Status column displays"?" and the reason for the "?" is displayed if you move the mouse over the status column.

Analyze Route Right Pane Contents

Called Party ID Panel

This panel is displayed only if you select a row in the middle pane that contains any referenced columns. The corresponding referenced table details are displayed in the right pane. The Called Party ID panel displays the following:

  • Parameters - contains all the referenced tables' column names for a selected row in the middle pane.

  • Values - contains all the referenced column values for the selected row in the middle pane.

  • Search criteria panel.

Called Party Address

  1. Select CONFIGURATION > SS7 DB Application from the launcher tree.

  2. Select Service Handlers tab.

  3. Click Called Party Address response identifier node under the desired service handler template node in the left pane. The Called Party Address response identifier node displays the Called Party Address middle pane contents and Called Party Address right pane contents.

SCCP Service Handler

Name

Name of the Called Party Address response identifier. The valid range is 1-20 ASCII ([a-z], [A-Z], [0-9], -, ., _, and space) characters.

Double-click the Original CdPA, MDN Name, MIN Name, SRS RN, Digits Dialed, Based on SRS, Based on MIN, Based on IMSI, and MIN RN text boxes to display the  Referenced column help window that lists the already configured Original CdPAs, MDN Names, MIN Names, SRS RNs, and MIN RNs.

The Original CdPA, MDN Name, MIN Name, SRS RN, Digits Dialed, Based on SRS, Based on MIN, Based on IMSI, and MIN RN fields are parts of a choice group. You can enter a value for only one of these fields.

Original CdPA

Original SCCP called party address. This field refers to an entry in the Original CdPA table. The default value is NULL.

MDN Name

IS41 mobile directory number. This field refers to an entry in the MDN table. The default value is NULL.


MIN Name

IS41 mobile identity number. This field refers to an entry in the MIN table. The default value is NULL

SRS RN

A routing number provided by the subscriber routing service. This field refers to an entry in the SRS RN table. The default value is NULL.

MIN RN

A routing number provided by the mobile identity routing service. This field refers to an entry in the MIN RN table. The default value is NULL.

Digits Dialed

Called party number. This field refers to an entry in the Digits Dialed table. The default value is NULL.

Based on SRS

Called party address provided by the subscriber routing service. This field refers to an entry in the CdPA SRS RN table. The default value is NULL.  

Based on MIN

Called party address provided by the MIN service. This field refers to an entry in the CdPA MIN RN table. The default value is NULL.

Based on IMSI

Called party address provided by the IMSI service. This field refers to an entry in the CdPA IMSI RN table. The default value is NULL.

Status

The status of a created or modified record. If a record is created or modified but not committed to the database, the Status column displays Edited or New. If a record is modified and committed successfully to the database, the Status column displays Success. If the modified record is not successfully committed to the database, the Status column displays Failure and the reason for the failure is displayed if you move the mouse over the status column. If invalid values are entered, the Status column displays "?" and the reason for the "?" is displayed if you move the mouse over the status column.


Called Party Address Right Pane Contents

The right pane displays the following panels when you select a row in the middle pane. The fields in the right pane differ based on the selected database

  • Original CdPA panel
  • Digits Dialed
  • MDN Name panel
  • MIN Name panel
  • SRS RN panel
  • MIN RN panel
  • Based on IMSI
  • Based on MIN
  • Based on SRS
     

    The fields displayed in the above panels are the same as the Called Party ID panel.

CdPA

Use the CdPA node to declare the SCCP called party addresses that the service handler can use.

  1. Select CONFIGURATION > SS7 DB Application from the launcher tree.

  2. Select Service Handlers tab.

  3. Click CdPA response identifier node under the desired service handler template node in the left pane. The fields Name, Original CdPA, Based on SRS, Based on MIN and Based on IMSI in the CdPA node are the same as the Called Party Address node.

  4. Go to Service Handlers tab procedures  for the procedures using this window.

Connect

  1. Select CONFIGURATION > SS7 DB Application from the launcher tree.

  2. Select Service Handlers tab.

  3. Click Connect response identifier node under the desired service handler template node in the left pane. The Connect response identifier node displays the  Connect middle pane contents  and Connect right pane contents.

IN Provide Instructions Service Handler

ANSI INAP Service Handler

Double-click the LEC Expanded CIC, LEC CIC, Billing Indicator Name, Connect Parameters, Send Charging Information, RN, and CDPN Name text boxes to display the Referenced column help window that lists the already configured LEC Expanded CICs, LEC CICs, Billing Indicators, RNs, and CDPN Names.

Name

Name of the Connect response identifier. The valid range is 1-20 ASCII ([a-z], [A-Z], [0-9], -, .,_, and space) characters.

LEC Expanded CIC

Expanded carrier identification code for the local exchange. This field refers to an entry in the Digits Carrier table. The default value is NOT NULL.

LEC CIC

Carrier identification code for the local exchange. This field refers to an entry in the Digits Carrier table. The default value is NOT NULL.  

Billing Indicators Name

Name of the billing indicator. This field refers to an entry in the Billing Indicators table. The default value is NOT NULL.  

Connect Parameters

Name of the connect parameters. It refers to an entry in the Connect Parameters table. The valid range is 1-20 ASCII ([a-z], [A-Z], [0-9], -, ., _, and space) characters. The default value is NULL.

Send Charging Information

Name of the send charging information. It refers to an entry in the Send Charging Information table. The valid range is 1-20 ASCII ([a-z], [A-Z], [0-9], -, ., _, and space) characters. The default value is NULL.  

Include SCI

Select a value from the drop-down list to include SCI. The possible values are Yes and No. The default value is No.

The CDPN Name and RN fields are part of a choice group. You can enter a value for only one of these fields.

CDPN Name

Name of the called party. This field refers to an entry in the Called Party Number table. The default value is NULL.  

RN

Option to provide the subscriber routing service. Select a value from the drop-down list. The possible values are Yes or No. The default value is No.

Status

The status of a created or modified record. If a record is created or modified but not committed to the database, the Status column displays Edited or New. If a record is modified and committed successfully to the database, the Status column displays Success. Continue

Use the Continue node to declare the contents of an AIN continue message. The continue message instructs the service handler to ignore the event and continue with the service.

  1. Select CONFIGURATION > SS7 DB Application from the launcher tree.

  2. Select Service Handlers tab.

  3. Click Continue response identifier node under the desired service handler template node in the left pane. The Continue response identifier node displays the Continue middle pane contents and Continue right pane contents.

Continue Middle Pane Contents

Name

Name of the Continue response identifier. The valid range is 1-20 ASCII ([a-z], [A-Z], [0-9], -, .,_, and space) characters.

Status

  3. Click Disconnect response identifier node under the desired service handler template node in the left pane. The Disconnect response identifier node displays the Continue middle pane contents and Continue right pane content.

LOCREQ

  1. Select CONFIGURATION > SS7 DB Application from the launcher tree.

  2. Select Service Handlers tab.

  3. Click LOCREQ response identifier node under the desired service handler template node in the left pane. The LOCREQ response identifier node displays the LOCREQ middle pane contents and LOCREQ right pane contents.

LOCREQ Middle Pane Contents

Name

Name of the LOCREQ response identifier. The valid range is 1-20 ASCII ([a-z], [A-Z], [0-9], -, .,_, and space) characters.

Double-click the ESN and MSC ID text boxes to display the Referenced column help window that lists the already configured ESNs and MSC IDs.

ESN

Electronic serial number. This field refers to an entry in the Electronic Serial Number table. The default value is NOT NULL.

MSC ID

Mobile switching center identification. This field refers to an entry in the MSC ID table. The default value is NOT NULL.

MIN

Mobile identity number. The valid range is 0000000000-9999999999. You must enter 10 digits. The default value is NOT NULL.

Status

 Use the Relay node to declare the content of the relay parameter that the service handler can use.

  3. Click Relay response identifier node under the desired service handler template node in the left pane. The Relay response identifier node displays the Relay middle pane contents and Relay right pane contents.

Name

Name of the Relay response identifier. The valid range is 1-20 ASCII ([a-z], [A-Z], [0-9], -, ., _, and space) characters.

SCCP Called Party Address

Name of the SCCP called party address. This field refers to an entry in the SCCP Called Party Address table. The default value is NULL.

InitialDP Parameters

Name of the initial destination point parameters. This field refers to an entry in the Initial DP Parameters table. The default value is NULL.

Modify SCCP CdPA

Select a value from the drop-down list. The possible values are Yes or No. The default value is No.

Modify InitialDP Parameters

Select a value from the drop-down list. The possible values are Yes or No. The default value is No.

Name

Coding Standard

Select the coding standard from the drop-down list. The possible values are ITU, ISO, National, and Specific. The default value is National.


Location

Select the location from the drop-down list. The possible values are User, PrivateLocal, PublicLocal, Transit, PublicRemote, PrivateRemote, Spare6, International, Spare8, Spare9, Beyond Inter-working, Spare11, RsvNat12, RsvNat13, RsvNat14, and RsvNat15. The default value is User.

Cause Value

Indicates the cause of the release response. The valid range is 0-127.

Status

The status of a created or modified record. If a record is created or modified but not committed to the database, the Status column displays Edited or New. If a record is modified and committed successfully to the database, the Status column displays Success. If the modified record is not successfully committed to the database, the Status column displays Failure and the reason for the failure is displayed if you move the mouse over the status column. If invalid values are entered, the Status column displays "?" and the reason for the "?" is displayed if you move the mouse over the status column.

  1. Select CONFIGURATION > SS7 DB Application from the launcher tree.

  2. Select Service Handlers tab.

  4. Go to  Response identifiers procedures for the procedures using this window.

Return Error

Use the Return Error node to declare a TCAP error code that can be used by the service handler. The TCAP error code indicates the error that occurs when an event fails.

  1. Select CONFIGURATION > SS7 DB Application from the launcher tree.

  2. Select Service Handlers tab.

  3. Click Return Error response identifier node under the desired service handler template node in the left pane. The Return Error response identifier node displays the Return Error middle pane contents and Return Error right pane contents.
