The SDA System Manager GUI applet provides a desktop window to launch and run the System Manager applications.

To access the SDA System Manager GUI, you need the the IP address of an SDA System Manager or the SDA System Manager shared IP address of the DSC 8000 platform on which SDA is installed.

 The SDA GUI applet is launched from the Internet Explorer web browser on a Windows-based PC with the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed.

The supported web browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer.

To access the SDA System Manager GUI

The SDA System manager GUI does not support IPv6 addresses. Only IPv4 address can be used to accessed the GUI.

  1. Type the IP address of the SDA in the IE browser address field and press Enter.

    The IE browser window displays a link to access the SDA GUI applet

    For the IPv4 address type, enter either format (secure or non-secure): http://IP address or https://IP address.

  2. Click on the link: SS7 DB Apps Manager Applet.

    The IE browser window displays the message: Java GUI will display shortly. Do not close this browser window.

    A Security Alert window appears.


      

    If the Java Security Alert window does not appear, ensure the Java 8 plug-in is enabled in the IE browser plug-in settings window. To verify the status of the Java plug-in, from the IE browser window access the Tools drop-down menu and select Manage add-ons.

         

  3. Click Run.

    A browser Security Warning dialog window appears.

     

  4. Click Don't Block to proceed.

    Another Security Warning dialog window is displayed.

        

  5. Click Run.

    The SDA Login window appears.

    If the SDA GUI applet fails to launch, reinitialize the Java security prompts from the Security tab in the Java Control Panel. Click on Restore Security Prompts and then click Restore All at the prompt.

         

  6. Enter the User Name and Password in the Login window.

  7. Click Login.

    The SDA System Manager GUI window opens.

    Do not close the browser window while the SDA System Manager GUI applet is running or you will terminate the session.
