Use the following procedure to deploy and create a DSC SWe using the ESXi Web interface

Prerequisites
Start
  1. Launch the VMware ESXi Web interface.

  2. Perform the following steps to log into the VMWare ESXi host.

    1. Enter the VMWare ESXi hostname or IP address in the IP address/Name field.

    2. Enter the  VMware ESXI host username in the User Name field.

    3. Enter the corresponding password in the Password field.

    4. Click Login.



  3. Click Virtual Machines.

  4. Click Create/Register VM and select Deploy a virtual machine from OVF or OVA file.


  5. Click Next.

  6. Enter a name for the VM and drag or upload the DSC OVA file to the window.


  7. Click Next

  8. Select Storage, and click Next.

      

  9. Read the License Agreement and click I agree to confirm that you adhere with this agreement and then click Next.


  10. Click I agree and click Next.


  11. Click Thick in Disk Provisioning.

    Tip

    Selecting Thick Provision Eager Zeroed option expands the Virtual Machine Disk (VMDK) image of the OVA file into a raw disk on the ESXi host. Eager Zeroed means that every byte on the disk is written and all expansion space has 0s.

  12. Select the network from the list to map with the DSC SWE VM.

    Tip

    Adding networks and mapping this network with the DSC SWe VM can be carried out even after deploying the DSC SWe OVA file.

      

  13. Click Next.


  14. Verify whether the deployment setting information is correct. If required, click Back to edit the deployment settings.
  15. Click Finish to start the DSC SWe VM deployment on VMWare.

  16. To monitor the DSC SWe VM deployment and creation, look at the Recent tasks window.

  17. To check and verify the system-wide settings, do the following:

    1. In the Host window, click Manage.
    2. Click System and then click Autostart.
    3. Click Edit settings.
