This section provides you with a Basic PCE provisioning example.

Network Example Description

The following information provides you with a provisioning example for the system illustrated in the following figure. This illustration shows a network with

  • a private network consisting of nodes
    • 3.3.3 in Boston

    • 3.3.4 in Ann Arbor

    • 3.3.5 in Rhode Island

  • the private nodes are accessed by the public network through the public gateway at 5.5.5

  • the public network consists of the switches
    • 2.2.2 in New York

    • 4.4.4 in Syracuse

The provisioning requirement is to set the PCE public node and the MTP3 private VNode to the same PC for simplified troubleshooting.

Before You Begin PCE Provisioning

Before you start the provisioning tasks for the example illustrated in the preceding figure, Example Network for Basic PCE Provisioning, make sure that you have completed the following tasks:

  • installed the DSC Platform

  • configured the IP network interfaces

  • created and configured the required SS7 or M2PA links

  • you are an experienced user of the DSC Platform MTP3 and SS7 applications and have the knowledge to create linksets, routeset, and VNodes

  • configured the PCE system-side attributes
