The following section is only applicable to the DSC 8000, the DSC SWe (on MA-RMS), the Signaling Platform 2000 (SP2000), and the virtual SP2000 (on MA-RMS).

If you set the Confirmation Required attribute on the NA STP Configuration screen to ENABLED (refer to Configuring STP Attributes), a confirmation request message appears when the last link in a linkset is deactivated. This message appears regardless whether the linkset contained the same type or various types of links in this linkset. If you, in fact, want to deactivate the last link in the linkset, you have to click the Deactivate button one more time.

Caution

Deactivating an ATM link should be done with care because performing this task may be service affecting.

Caution

If an ATM is deactivated and then active, any Low Speed Links already on the card or created while the ATM is deactivated will be affected and require a reboot of either the mp_mtp2 or the I/O card. For more information, refer to Configuring Link Capabilities for I/O Cards.
