The Sonus SBC 1000/2000 has the ability to function as a DHCP server. This includes granting IP address leases and providing other network parameters to any network connected device. In addition to being able to enable/disable the server at a global level, the user can create DHCP address pools and static DHCP client configurations. All DHCP Server functionality is supported on all Sonus SBC 1000/2000 platforms.

Although the primary use case for the DHCP server functionality is in the branch office configuration, it is by no means limited to only this scenario. With the proper configuration, the Sonus SBC 1000/2000 can serve multiple subnets on different Ethernet interfaces, and host a multitude of both dynamically and statically configured clients.
