The ADNs communicate through the Diameter protocol and the connections may be as follows:

To create an ADN Connection
- From the Main Menu, click DSC.
- Click the required DSC Instance (if more than one DSC Instance is defined).
- Click DSC Nodes.
- Click the required DSC Node.
- Click Adjacent Diameter Nodes.
- Click the required Adjacent Diameter Node.
- In the ADN Connection Selection row, click Create.
- In the Slot text box, enter the Adjacent Diameter Node connection associated DSC slot.
- Click Create.
Tip
To delete an ADN Connection, click X in the same line that this ADN Connection appears on the ADN Connection Selection list. Before you can delete an ADN Connection, you must deactivate this ADN Connection (see To activate or deactivate an ADN Connection).
- From the Main Menu, click DSC.
- Click the required DSC Instance (if more than one DSC Instance is defined).
- Click DSC Nodes.
- Click the required DSC Node.
- Click Adjacent Diameter Nodes.
- Click the required Adjacent Diameter Node.
Click the required ADN Connection.
Configure the required attributes.
Tip
When configuring the Transport Type, if you select the SERVER ONLY option, make sure an associated Transport Server object is available (see Configuring Transport Servers).
- Click Continue.
To activate or deactivate an ADN Connection
Caution
Use the activate and deactivate actions with caution, because these actions may affect the Ribbon DSC traffic.
- From the Main Menu, click DSC.
- Click the required DSC Instance (if more than one DSC Instance is defined).
- Click DSC Nodes.
- Click the required DSC Node.
- Click Adjacent Diameter Nodes.
- Click the required Adjacent Diameter Node.
- Click the required ADN Connection.
- Click Activate | Deactivate as required.
To view an Advertised Capability of an ADN Connection
Tip
If the ADN connection is inactive or down, the Advertised Capability of the ADN may be undefined (empty).
- From the Main Menu, click DSC.
- Click the required DSC Instance (if more than one DSC Instance is defined).
- Click DSC Nodes.
- Click the required DSC Node.
- Click Adjacent Diameter Nodes.
- Click the required Adjacent Diameter Node.
- Click the required ADN Connection.
- Click Advertised Capabilities.
- Click the required Advertised Capability.
To view a Peer Identity of an ADN Connection
Tip
When a new ADN Connection is created, the Peer Identity values are not set if the connection is not set to UP. When an ADN Connection is set to UP, the Peer Identity attributes are populated and match the content in the AVPs' field values of the received CER or CEA message.
- From the Main Menu, click DSC.
- Click the required DSC Instance (if more than one DSC Instance is defined).
- Click DSC Nodes.
- Click the required DSC Node.
- Click Adjacent Diameter Nodes.
- Click the required Adjacent Diameter Node.
- Click the required ADN Connection.
- Click Peer Identity.
