This section is only applicable to the DSC 8000.
The DSC 8000 utilizes a Micro-TCA Carrier Hub (MCH) that supports faceplate LEDs on the AMC671 and its rear card the RMC670 μRTM (see Figure AMC671 and RMC670 μRTM Telco Alarm LEDs) and also supports LEDs on the Alarm Panel (see Figure DSC 8000 Alarm Panel) to indicate the alarm state of the system.
The Alarm Panel may also be referred to as Telco Alarm Panel.
In a multi-shelf system, the alarm panel is controlled by the AMC671 and its rear card the RMC670 μRTM in slots 1 (MCH1) and 13 (MCH2) in the Control Shelf.
The alarm LEDs on both the cards and the Alarm Panel are used to indicate Minor (yellow), Major (red), and Critical (red) alarms. If the AMC671 card has an alarm LED illuminated for a particular severity, the Alarm Panel also has its LED illuminated for that same severity.
An alarm cutoff button is available on the faceplate of the AMC671. Pushing this button temporarily disables the Alarm Panel and causes the alarm indicators on the AMC671 and RMC670 μRTM faceplates to blink.
The following figure shows the location of the Telco alarm LEDs on the AMC671 MCH and RMC670 μRTM.
