Basic operations for Virtual Machines and Hyper-V installed on the ASM are available through the WebUI (ASM Virtual Machines table).

Operate Virtual Machine

Basic operations can also be executed through Hyper-V; these updates are reflected in the WebUI.

  1. Through the WebUI, access ASM Virtual Machines. See Accessing and Modifying ASM Virtual Machines.

  2. Click the checkbox next to the VM in which you wish to execute an action.

  3. From the menu bar, click Virtual Machine Action.

  4. From the drop down list, select the desired action.

    StartStarts the VM.

    NOTE
    : The SBA does not need to be running for a VM to be deployed.
    Running
    Turn OffTurns off the VM immediately without going through the full shut down process.

    When the VM is "Turned off", it is not available in the ASM Virtual Machines table. 
    Stopped
    Shut DownShuts down the VM.Stopped
    SaveSaves a copy of the current VM image.Saved
    PausePauses the selected VM.Paused
    ResumeReturns the VM to Running state (from the Paused stated).Running
    RebootA message confirms the reboot. Once the VM is rebooted, it returns to Running state. Running

Start/Stop Hyper-V

Stopping Hyper-V will also stop the VMs.

The Hyper-V Action options start/stop Hyper-V services on the host.

  1. Through the WebUI, access ASM Virtual Machines. See Accessing and Modifying ASM Virtual Machines.

  2. From the menu bar, click Hyper-V Action.
