Before an upgrade can be performed, at least one complete configuration backup needs to be performed.
This is performed automatically once per day on VNF systems to ensure that a backup exists for this purpose. However, if a VND is instantiated from scratch and immediately thereafter is upgraded, the automated daily backup may not yet have been performed. In such cases the backup must first be performed manually. It is always wise to perform a manual backup prior to upgrade so as to ensure that the latest and greatest system configuration is contained within the (latest) backup.
To perform a complete configuration backup manually, perform one of the following:
- Use the Configuration Management UI (CMU) Backups screen to perform a complete configuration backup.
- Execute the following command (as root) from a bash shell:
/opt/cpu_ss7gw/current/os/cinder_shared_drive_mgmt --backup-management
