Use the following workflow to activate High Availability on a pair of newly installed
Refer to High Availability for a description of the High Availability option and a summary of user interface changes supporting the option.
Prerequisites
- Login access to the Unable to show "metadata-from": No such page "_space_variables"web-based user interface (webUI) as user administrator (admin) on each device
- Completion of the Workflow for Initial Setup - High Availability up to this procedure
- Ethernet interfaces on each device
Interface Type Limitations and Characteristics Dedicated HA port Once you enable the HA feature on your SBC SWe Edge, you can only configure the static IP addresses on the Active and Standby instances of the HA port, which must be on the same subnet. Media (packet) ports Only static IP address are supported in SBC SWe Edge release 12.1. Management port You can use either static or DHCP IP addresses and configure different IP addresses on both the Active and the Standby instances.

Configure High Availability on Active and Standby Devices
Enter the local and remote HA interface addresses of the first High Availability device (referred to as an
Start Enter the Local IP Address, Local IP Netmask, and Remote IP Address in the Create HA Interface pop-up window. The Local IP is the HA IP address of the instance you are currently in. The Remote IP is the other HA IP address of the other instance, as mentioned in the the Prerequisites section. Click OK. The following message opens. Click OK. The following message opens. It takes about 2 minutes for the instance to reboot. The system takes you back to the log in page once the reboot is complete. Confirm that HA is enabled on this instance. The HA role of the instance is seen at the right hand corner of the WebUI.

Verify High Availability Status
Verify the HA pair status to ensure that both the Active and Standby devices (referred to as instances in the procedure) are properly enabled.
