Use this object to configure global DNS settings.

Command Syntax

% set global servers dns global
	ednsFailureCount <1-5>
	ednsPayloadSize <512-4096 bytes>
	ednsRetryAfter <60-180 seconds>
	iterationCount <0-32>   
	monitoringInterval <0-300> 
	probeInterval <0-300> 
	retransmissionCount <0-20>

Command Parameters

Global DNS Servers Parameters

Parameter

Length/Range

Description

ednsFailureCount 1-5

The maximum number of EDNS failure responses allowed, after which the DNS server is identified as unsupported for EDNS. (default = 3)

ednsPayloadSize 512-4096

The global EDNS payload size, in bytes, for DNS Servers. (default = 1280)

ednsRetryAfter 60-180

The number of seconds to wait before retrying to establish EDNS support after a failure. (default = 180)

iterationCount 0-32

Global DNS iteration count limit for server requests. (default = 8).

monitoringInterval 0-300

Global monitoring interval (in seconds) for DNS Servers. (default = 5).

probeInterval 0-300

Global probe interval (in seconds) for blacklisted DNS Servers. (default = 5).

retransmissionCount 0-20

Global retransmission count limit for DNS iterations of server requests.  (default = 2).

retransmissionTimer 100-10000

Global retransmission timer value (in milliseconds) for DNS iterations of server requests. (default = 500)

timeouts 

0-32

Global number of time outs for blacklisting a DNS Server. (default = 0).

Use the following command syntax to enable EDNS support (refer to DNS Group - CLI for command details):

% set addressContext <addressContext Name> dnsGroup <dnsGroup Name> ednsSupport enabled
