This section provides a description of the AMC348 T1/E1 Communications Controller and it’s RMC348 µRTM.
AMC348
The AMC348 is an eight-port T1/E1/J1 communications controller powered by the Freescale® MPC8568 PowerQUICC™ III processor (see the following figure). The card supports simultaneous communications on eight T1/E1/J1 lines and Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) interfaces.
The AMC348 is presented as a double-wide, mid-size AMC form factor (148.8 x 28.95 x 181.5 mm) and complies with PICMG specifications AMC.0 and MTCA.4.
I/O functions for this card are provided by the the RMC348 MicroTCA.4 Rear Transition Module (µRTM).
The AMC348 can be hot-swap serviced without the need to remove cabling on the RMC348 µRTM).
There are two 10/100/1000 Ethernet connectors and a serial port connector on the AMC348 faceplate. For more information, refer to AMC348 T1/E1/J1 Interface Connectors.

RMC348
The RMC348 MicroTCA.4 Rear Transition Module (µRTM) provides I/O connectivity to the
T1/E1/J1 communications controller (see the following figure).
The RMC348 is a double-wide, mid-size AMC form factor (148.8 x 28.95 x 181.5 mm) and complies with PICMG specifications AMC.0 and MTCA.4. This card is an independent hot-swappable device.
