 Easy Config interface includes a built-in step-by-step setup configuration wizard, which enables end-users to quickly deploy the 
Unable to show "metadata-from": No such page "_space_variables"
 in an Enterprise's Lync environment with a SIP Trunk Provider to an ISDN PBX. The
Unable to show "metadata-from": No such page "_space_variables"
 can be configured to use a SIP trunk to connect to an ISDN PBX using the wizard as described in the section below.

The Easy Config wizard creates the requested configuration by using the current configuration of the SBC as the starting point. The Easy Config retains the existing SBC configuration elements and adds the requested endpoint configurations as new configuration elements.

 

The following SIP Trunks are supported:

  • ATT SIP Trunk
  • KDDI SIP Trunk
  • NTT DOCOMO Officelink
  • Other SIP Trunk
  • SoftBank ConnecTalk
  • SoftBank White Office
  • Telstra Enterprise SIP Connect
  • Verizon SIP Trunk

Depending on the SIP trunk selected, the specific configuration fields are displayed in the wizard. These are noted below.

Step 1 - Select Scenario

Select the Application type (SIP Trunk ↔ ISDN PBX) and specify scenario configuration details based on the deployment settings. Then, click Next to move to Step 2. (Or, click Cancel to return to the main WebUI screen).

These instructions assume the

Scenario -  Field Definitions

Step 1

 

Application

The scenario in which the configuration template is provided. In this case, select SIP Trunk ↔ ISDN PBX.

Scenario Description

Enter a name to describe the SIP Trunk ↔ ISDN PBX setup.

This wizard add this value as a prefix on each SBC configuration element it creates for the deployment.

Telephone Country

Click the drop-down arrow and choose the country in which the SIP Trunk ↔ ISDN PBX scenario originates.

Emergency Services

Specify the Emergency Services for outgoing numbers. The previous figure shows Emergency Services set to None to increase the upper field display area; However, descriptions of fields that display when Emergency Services is set to a value other than None are included below.

Valid Options:  ELIN Identifier, E911/E112, or None


The E911 ELIN number from the "CompanyName" field configured in Lync location services is used as the authoritative Callback Number for outgoing E911 calls, and is always the preferred configuration. Specifically, the ELIN number from the preferred configuration takes precedence over any Callback Number number configuration in Lync Setup. For more information, refer to Creating and Modifying Entries to Transformation Tables.

Emergency Callback Number 1

Specify the Callback Number in string format. This field displays only when ELIN Identifier or E911/E112 is the value for the Emergency Services field.

Emergency Callback Number 2

Specify the Second Callback Number in string format. This field displays only when ELIN Identifier or E911/E112 is selected as the value for the Emergency Services field.

PSAP Number

Defines the Public Safety Answering Point Number. Valid entry: 1 - 127 characters.

SIP Trunk

Describes the SIP trunk used for connection to the ISDN PBX. Valid options: Other SIP Trunk, ATT SIP Trunk, Verizon SIP Trunk, KDDI SIP Trunk, SoftBank ConnecTalk, SoftBank White Office, and NTT DOCOMO Officelink.

The SIP Trunk selected determines the field options displayed in Step 2. See Step 2 - Configure SIP Details for Endpoint.

ISDN PBX

User Type is set to ISDN PBX.

 

Step 2 - Configure SIP Details for Endpoint

Enter the scenario configuration details based on your endpoint. Once completed, click Next to move to Step 3 (or Previous to return to the previous screen).

Other SIP Trunk - Field Definitions

These fields apply if you selected Other SIP Trunk in Step 1 - Select Scenario.

Other SIP Trunk

 

Border Element Server (Other SIP Trunk)

The FQDN or IP address of the Sesson Border Controller service provider.

Protocol 

The IP protocol to use for sending and receiving SIP messages between SBC and the Border Element Server. Valid entry: UDP or TCP

Port Number 

The SIP Server Port number used for sending and receiving SIP messages between SBC and the Border Element Server. Pre-defined value

Use Secondary Border Element Server

Enables or disables the secondary Session Border Controller service provider configured. 

Secondary Border Element Server

Specifies the Secondary Border Element Service provider. Valid entry: IP Address or FQDN. This field is available only when Use Secondary Border Element Server is Enabled.

Protocol (Secondary Border Element Server)

The Protocol used for communicating with the Secondary Border Element Server. Valid entry: UDP or TCP. This field is available only when Use Secondary Border Element Server is Enabled.

Port Number 

The Port Number used for sending and receiving messages between SBC and the Secondary Border Element server. This field is available only when Use Secondary Border Element Server is Enabled.

ISDN PBX Fields

Port Type (ISDN PBX)

Specifies the physical T1/E1 port used for this Signaling Group. Valid option: T1 or E1.

DS1 Ports

The physical T1/E1 port number to which the PSTN line is physically connected. DS1 entries are configured with the following command buttons: Up (move a DS1 port up in the list), Down (move a DS1 port down in the list), Add (adds a DS1 port), and Remove (deletes a DS1 port).

For example, click Add. Select the desired PSTN port and OK.

Specifies the ISDN variant for the port type in the ISDN Signaling Group.

For T1

  • ATT 4EES

ISDN Number Translation

Determines if the SBC should translate dialed PSTN digits as phone extensions. Valid options: Translation Extension (translates digits into phone extensions) or Passthrough Untranslated (does not translate digits).

PBX Prefix

The numbers to prefix for the translated phone extension. This field is available only when ISDN Number Translation is set to Translation Extension.

Extension Length

The number of digits used to account for the PSTN extension. Valid options: 2, 3, 4, or 5. This field is available only when ISDN Number Translation is set to Translation Extension.

Clock Source

Specifies the source of the systems transmit clock.

  • System: The built-in oscillator is used to transmit data over synchronous links. The system's internal clock can be modified by the system administrator, see Configuring the System Date and Time.
  • Network: The clock is derived from the data received from the peer devices on the network.

Primary Clock Port

Specifies the DS1 port from which the clock will be derived. This field is visible only if Network is specified as the Clock Source.

Secondary Clock Port

Specifies the DS1 port from which the clock will be derived. This field is visible only if Network is specified as the Clock Source.
The Secondary Clock Source is used only if the primary clock source is not of sufficient quality or becomes unavailable.

ISDN Side

Specifies the ISDN user/network side for this signaling group.

SoftBank ConnecTalk - Field Definitions

These fields apply if you select SoftBank ConnecTalk in Step 1 - Select Scenario.

SoftBank ConnecTalk

Deployment Scenario

Determines the FQDN of the Primary and Secondary SIP Servers. This field has the following options:

  • PSTN-GW: East - The Primary SIP Server is gw16.ext.mb.softbank.jp and the Secondary SIP Server is gw26.ext.mb.softbank.jp.
  • PSTN-GW: West - The Primary SIP Server is gw26.ext.mb.softbank.jp and the Secondary SIP Server is gw16.ext.mb.softbank.jp.
  • PBX-GW: East - The Primary SIP Server is gw18.ext.mb.softbank.jp and the Secondary SIP Server is gw28.ext.mb.softbank.jp.
  • PBX-GW: West - The Primary SIP Server is gw28.ext.mb.softbank.jp and the Secondary SIP Server is gw18.ext.mb.softbank.jp.

Primary SIP Server

The host IP address or FQDN of the primary SIP server.

Secondary SIP Server

The host IP address or FQDN of the secondary SIP server.

PSTN Line

The line telephone service from SoftBank. This field has the following options:

  • Otokuline (default)
  • PRI Circuit
  • NNT INS1500

This field appears only if the Deployment Scenario is PSTN-GW (East or West).

Prefix Area Code

The prefix area code of where the SBC is deployed. This field appears only if the Deployment Scenario is PSTN-GW (East or West).

The method to connect networks. This field has the following options: Routerless and Router.

Signaling/Media Source IP

The user-specified IP address for SIP signaling messages.

Gateway ID (Remote Authorization Entry)

The ID that authenticates with the router at the gateway of the network.

Gateway Password

The password that authenticates with the router at the gateway of the network.

Confirm Password

Re-enter the password for the router that serves as the network gateway.

From/To Header Host (SIP Profile and Contact Registrant Entry)

The IP or FQDN of the SIP Profile and Contact Registrant Table.

Contact Header URI

This field automatically generates using the Gateway ID at the From/To Header Host.

Port Type (ISDN PBX)

Specifies the physical T1 or E1 port that this Signaling Group uses. This field has the following options: T1 and E1.

DS1 Ports

The physical T1 or E1 port number to which the PSTN line physically connects. Configure the DS1 entries with the following buttons: Up (move a DS1 port up in the list), Down (move a DS1 port down in the list), Add/Edit (add or edit a DS1 port), and Remove (delete a DS1 port).

For example, click Add. Select the desired PSTN port and OK.

Select ISDN Ports

Switch Variant

Specifies the ISDN variant for the port type in the ISDN Signaling Group.

If the Port Type is T1, this field has the following options:

  • ATT 4EES
  • ATT 5EES
  • DMS 100
  • N12
  • Euro ISDN
  • QSIG
  • Japanese ISDN

If the Port Type is E1, this field has the following options:

  • Euro ISDN
  • QSIG

ISDN Number Translation

Determines if the SBC translates the dialed PSTN digits as phone extensions. This field has the following options: Translation Extension (translates digits into phone extensions) and Passthrough Untranslated (does not translate digits). The default value is Translation Extension.

PBX Prefix

The prefix numbers of the translated phone extension. This field appears only if the ISDN Number Translation is Translation Extension.

Extension Length

The number of digits used to account for the PSTN extension. This field has the following options: 2, 3, 4, and 5. The default value is 4.

This field appears only if the ISDN Number Translation is Translation Extension.

Clock Source (System Timing)

Specifies the source of the system's transmit clock. This field has the following options:

  • System - The built-in oscillator transmits data over synchronous links. The system administrator can modify the system's internal clock.
  • Network - The SBC derives the clock from the data received from the peer devices on the network.

Primary Clock Port

Specifies the DS1 port from which the clock derives. The default value is the first port.

This field appears only if the Clock Source is Network.

Secondary Clock Port

Specifies the DS1 port from which the clock derives. The SBC only uses the Secondary Clock Port if the Primary Clock Port either is not of sufficient quality or becomes unavailable. The default value is None.

This field appears only if the Clock Source is Network.

ISDN Side (Ports and Protocol)

Specifies the ISDN side for this signaling group. This field has the following options: Network and User.

SoftBank White Office - Field Definitions

These fields apply if you selected SoftBank White Office in Step 1 - Select Scenario.

SoftBank White Office

WAN Link

The method used for connecting networks. Options are: Routerless and Router. On selection of Routerless, the Easy Config displays the Signaling/Media Source IP field and the SIP Server field. On selection of Router, the Easy Config displays the SIP Server field only.

Signaling/Media Source IP

The user-specified IP address to be used for SIP signaling messages. The Signaling/Media Source IP field does not display when the option selected for the WAN Link field is Router.

SIP Server

The host IP address or FQDN for the SIP server.

Gateway ID

The ID used for authenticating with the router at the gateway of the network.

Gateway Password

The password used for authenticating with the router at the gateway of the network.

Confirm Password

Re-entry of the password for the router serving as network gateway.  

Address of Record URI

The public address that points to the domain for users, for use in the Contact Registrant Entry. For example, specify:  GatewayID@SIPServer.

Port Type

Specifies the physical T1/E1 port used for this Signaling Group. Valid option: T1 or E1.

Telstra Enterprise SIP Connect - Field Definitions

These fields apply if you selected Telstra Enterprise SIP Connect  in Step 1 - Select Scenario.

Telstra Enterprise SIP Connect Trunk

NAT Public Interface

The public interface used for Network Address Translation (NAT).

State

The state to use in configuring the outbound proxy for the Provider SIP Trunk. Options include: Australia Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and Other (a user-specified FQDN).

Protocol and Port

Hard coded as UDP and Port 5060.

SIP Connect DNS IP

The IPv4 address used to create a Split DNS entry for the Telstra domain.

SIP Connect Domain/Realm

The SIP Connect Domain or Realm to which the specified IP address will map.

Authentication User ID

The User ID for use in authentication.

Authentication Password

The password to use when authenticating with the User ID.

Confirm Password

The re-entered password for confirmation.

Trunk Pilot Number

The 9-digit pilot number Telstra assigned for use with the SIP Connect trunking service.

Port Type (ISDN PBX)

Specifies the physical T1/E1 port used for this Signaling Group. Valid option: T1 or E1.

Border Element Server

The FQDN or IP address of the Session Border Controller service provider.

Protocol (Border Element Server)

The IP protocol used for sending and receiving SIP messages between SBC and the Border Element Server. Valid entry UDP or TCP.

Port Number (Border Element Server)

The SIP Server Port number used for sending and receiving SIP messages between SBC and the Border Element Server.

Use Secondary Border Element Server

Enables or disables the secondary Session Border Controller service provider configured.

Specifies the Secondary Border Element Service provider. Valid entry: IP Address or FQDN. This field is available only when Use Secondary Border Element Server is Enabled.

Enables/disables the AT&T Toll Free option. Valid options: Enabled or Disabled.

IP Toll Free Access Number

The Toll Free Access Number to use when the AT&T IP Toll Free option is enabled.

Port Type

Specifies the physical T1/E1 port used for this Signaling Group. Valid option: T1 or E1.

DS1 Ports

Verizon Managed Service

Border Element Server

The FQDN or IP address of the Session Border Controller service provider.

Protocol (Border Element Server)

The IP protocol used for sending and receiving SIP messages between SBC and the Border Element Server. This value is fixed at UDP.

Port Number (Border Element Server)

The SIP Server Port number used for sending and receiving SIP messages between SBC and the Border Element Server.

Port Type (ISDN PBX)

Specifies the physical T1/E1 port used for this Signaling Group. Valid option: T1 or E1.

DS1 Ports

The physical T1/E1 port number to which the PSTN line is physically connected. DS1 entries are configured with the following command buttons: Up (move a DS1 port up in the list), Down (move a DS1 port down in the list), Add (adds a DS1 port), and Remove (deletes a DS1 port).

SIP Server

Protocol

Port Number

The SIP Server Port number used for sending and receiving SIP messages between SBC and the Border Element Server.

Called Prefix

Used for setting up transformation rules for the FMC service.

Address of Record URI

 Address of Record of the client that is registered on the SIP server.

Static Host

Address of Static Host. Valid options: FQDN[:port] or IP4 [:port] or [IP6]:port

Authentication ID (Remote Authorization Entry)

Specifies a user name to use in response to a challenge.

Enter Password

The password for the Authentication ID.

Confirm Password

Re-enter the password for the Authentication ID.

DNS Server IP

IP address (IPv4 or IPv6) of the DNS server.

Domain Name

Domain name associated with the DNS IP address.

Port Type

Specifies the physical T1/E1 port used for this Signaling Group. Valid option: T1 or E1.

DS1 Ports

The physical T1/E1 port number to which the PSTN line is physically connected. DS1 entries are configured with the following command buttons: Up (move a DS1 port up in the list), Down (move a DS1 port down in the list), Add (adds a DS1 port), and Remove (deletes a DS1 port).

Office Link FOMA-R

The Host IP address of the SIP Server.

Protocol

 The IP protocol used for sending and receiving SIP messages between SBC and the SIP Server. Default value: UDP.

Port Number

 The SIP Server Port number used for sending and receiving SIP messages between SBC and the SIP Server. Default value: 5062.

CUG Domain Name

The FQDN of the SIP Server.

Number of Channels

 The number of SIP channels. Valid entry: 1 - 960.

Port Type

 Specifies the physical T1/E1 port used for this Signaling Group. Valid option: T1, E1 or BRI.

DS1 Ports

The physical T1/E1 port number to which the PSTN line is physically connected. DS1 entries are configured with the following command buttons: Up (move a DS1 port up in the list), Down (move a DS1 port down in the list), Add/Edit (adds a DS1 port), and Remove (deletes a DS1 port).

For example, click Add. Select the desired PSTN port and OK.

The example below shows E1 ports; this field displays T1, E1 or BRI, depending on the port configuration.

 Determines if the SBC should translate dialed PSTN digits as phone extensions. Valid options: Translation Extension (translates digits into phone extensions) or Passthrough Untranslated (does not translate digits).

PBX Prefix

 The numbers to prefix for the translated phone extension. This field is available only when ISDN Number Translation is set to Translation Extension.

Extension Length

 The number of digits used to account for the PSTN extension. Valid options: 2, 3, 4, or 5.This field is available only when ISDN Number Translation is set to Translation Extension.

Clock Source

Specifies the source of the systems transmit clock.

  • System: The built-in oscillator is used to transmit data over synchronous links.
  • Network: The clock is derived from the data received from the peer devices on the network.

ISDN Side

Specifies the ISDN user/network side for the signaling group.

Step 3 - Confirm and Submit Configuration
