This section helps you to understand retry counter values for various SIP request types.

To View and Edit Retry Counters

On SBC main screen, go to Configuration > System Provisioning > Category: Trunk Provisioning > Trunk Group > Sip Trunk Group > Signaling > Retry Counters. The Retry Counters window is displayed.

The Retry Counters can be checked for each Address Context, for each Zone, for each Sip Trunk Group created or for all the Address Contexts, Zones and Sip Trunk Groups created. Use the drop-down box to select the desired Address Context, Zone and Sip Trunk Group.

The Edit Retry Counters window is displayed.

Parameter

Description

General

Maximum number of retransmissions for generic SIP request. The value ranges from 4 to 12 and the default value is 7.

Invite

Maximum number of retransmissions for SIP INVITE request. The value ranges from 0 to 6 and the default value is 6.

Bye

Maximum number of retransmissions for SIP BYE request. The value ranges from 0 to 12 and the default value is 3.

Cancel

Maximum number of retransmissions for SIP CANCEL request. The value ranges from 0 to 12 and the default value is 3.

Re Invite

Maximum number of retransmissions for SIP Re-INVITE request. The value ranges from 0 to 6 and the default value is 3.

Retry On422

Maximum number of session keepalive negotiations upon receiving 422. The value ranges from 0 to 12 and the default value is 5.

Retry On491

Maximum number of session keepalive negotiations upon receiving 491. The value ranges from 0 to 12 and the default value is 5.

Invite200

Maximum number of retransmissions for the 200 OK for initial SIP INVITE request. The value ranges from 0 to 10 and the default value is 0.

Make the required changes and click Save at the right hand bottom of the panel to save the changes made.
