The following sections lists the steps involved to configure M-SBC:

Do not change the default admin password.

Partial Configurations on Standby Signaling SBC(Current Active) fails for Alternate IP's post switchover.

Configure and Activate Signaling SBC Configuration

  1. Select the Signaling SBC Cluster.
  2. Click Configuration tab. Click New Configuration, the new configuration window is displayed.
  3. Select Version and Master Configurator from the drop-down menu. Enter the Configuration Name.

  4. Click Create (the configurator clears db and reboots. Rebooting might take 2-4 minutes).
  5. Click Open Editor to launch SBC Configuration Manager.

  6. To validate the meta variable table, see Validating the Meta Variable Table.

  7. To create an IP interface group and an IP Interface, see Creating an IP Interface Group and an IP Interface.

  8. To create static route, see Creating Static Route.
  9. To create DNS group and DNS server, see Creating DNS Group and DNS Server.
  10. To create a NTP server, see Creating a NTP Server.
  11. To create D-SBC SigPort, see Creating D-SBC SigPort.
  12. To create a cluster type, see Creating Cluster Type.
  13. To create a zone, see Creating Zone.

  17. Click Applied Saved Changes and click Close.

  18. In the Cluster Management page click Activate Configuration.

Validate the Meta Variable Table

To validate the meta variable table, select All > System > Meta Variables. The Meta Variable page displays.

Create an IP Interface Group and IP Interface

Create an IP Interface Group

  1. Log on to EMS SWe.
  2. In Network Management, click Cluster/VNF Management. The Manage Cluster/VNFs list is displayed.
  3. Select Signaling SBC Cluster and navigate to the Configurations tab.
  4. Select Configuration from the list.
  5. Click View Configuration. The SBC Configuration Manager page displays.

  6. Click All tab.
  7. Select Address Context > IP Interface Group. The IP Interface Group List page displays.
  8. Select default from the Address Context drop-down menu.
  9. Click New IP Interface Group. The Create New IP Interface Group section displays.
  10. Enter an IP interface group name. For example. SLIG1.
  11. Click Save.

  12. Repeat steps 7 through 11 to create three more interface groups. For example, SLIG2, MLIG1, and MLIG2. The four interface groups are listed.

Create an IP Interface

  1. Select Address Context > IP Interface Group > IP Interface. The IP Interface List page displays.

    1. Select default from the Address Context drop-down menu.
    2. Select an interface group created from the IP Interface Group drop-down menu. For example, SLIG1.
    3. Click + New IP Interface. The Create New IP Interface section displays.
    4. Enter a name for the interface. For example, SLIF1.
    5. Enter IP Meta key for IP Var V4, Prefix Var V4, IP Public Var V4, IP Var V6, IP Prefix Var V6, IP Public Var V6, and IP VLAN Tag Var fields.
    6. Select Mode as In Service.
    7. Select State as Enabled.
    8. Enter the CE Name. For example, vsbcSystem.
    9. Select pkt0 port from the Port Name drop-down menu.
    10. Click Save.

  2. Repeat step 1 to add an interface for SLIG2 interface group with IP interface as SLIF2 for pkt1 port. The two interfaces are listed.

Create Static Route

  1. Select Configuration > System Provisioning > Static Route. The Static Route List Page is displayed.
  2. Select default from the Address Context drop-down menu.
  3. Click + New Static Route. The Create New Static Route section displays.
  4. Enter the Destination IP Address (IPv4/IPv6).
  5. Enter the Prefix value.
  6. Enter the Next Hop IP Address (IPv4/IPv6).
  7. Select the IP Interface Group Name from the drop-down menu.
  8. Select the IP Interface Name from the drop-down menu.
  9. Enter the Preference Value, default value is 100.
  10. Click Save.

Create DNS Group and DNS Server

Create a DN Group

  1. Select Address Context > DNS Group. The DNS Group page displays.
  2. Select default from the Address Context drop-down menu.
  3. Click + New DNS Group. The Create New DNS Group section displays.
  4. Enter a DNS name.
  5. Select IP from the Type drop-down menu.
  6. Select SLIG2 from the IP Interface drop-down menu.
  7. Select Use Configured Dns Server as Enabled.
  8. Click Save.

Create a DNS Server

  1. Select Address Context > DNS Group > Server. The Server page displays.

  2. Select default from the Address Context drop-down menu.

  3. Select the DNS group created from the DNS Group drop-down menu. For example, DSBC_DNS.

  4. Click + New Server. The Create New Server section displays.

  5. Enter the server name.

  6. Select State as Enabled.

  7. Enter the DNS server IP in the IP Address V4 or V6 field.

  8. Click Save.

Create a NTP Server

To Configure NTP Server: 

  1. Select System > NTP > Server Admin. The Server Admin page displays.\

  2. Click + New Server Admin. The Create New Server Admin section displays.
  3. Enter server IP address.
  4. Select State as Enabled.
  5. Select Version as Version4.
  6. Click Save.

  7. Select System > NTP > Time Zone. The Time Zone page displays.

  8. Select the instance from the list. The Edit Selected Time Zone section displays.

  9. Select an appropriate time zone from the Zone drop-down menu.

  10. Click Save.

Create D-SBC SigPort

  1. Select System > Dsbc > Dsbc Sig Port. The Dsbc Sig Port page displays.
  2. Select SLIG2 from the IP Interface Group drop-down menu.
  3. Click Save.

    The Updated Successfully message displays.

Create a Cluster Type

  1. Select System > Dsbc > Cluster > Type. The Type page displays.

  2. Click + New Type. The Create New Type section displays.

  3. Select Name as Policer.
  4. Select State as Enabled.
  5. Enter the FQDN. For example, msbc01.lbs.com

    The Floating IP address of packet interfaces should be added as A record in DNS server.

  6. Select the DNS group from the DNS Group drop-down menu.
  7. Click Save.

Create a Zone

  1. Select Address Context > Zone. The Zone page displays.

  2. Select default from the Address Context drop-down menu.

  3. Click + New Zone. The Create New Zone section displays.

  4. Enter a Name. For example, INTERNAL.
  5. Enter a ID.
  6. Click Save.

  7. Repeat steps 3 through 6 to create another zone. For example, EXTERNAL. The zones are listed.

Create a SIP SigPort

Procedure

  1. Select Address Context > Zone > SIP Sig Port. The SIP SigPort page displays.
  2. Select default from the Address Context drop-down menu.
  3. Select a zone from the Zone drop-down menu. For example, INTERNAL.
  4. Click + New SIP Sig Port. The Create New SIP Sig Port section displays.
  5. Enter an Index.
  6. Set State as Enabled.
  7. Select SLIG1 from the IP Interface Group Name drop-down menu.
  8. Select sip-tcp option in the Transport Protocols Allowed.
  9. Click Save.

  10. Repeat steps 3 through 9 to create another SIP SIg Port for external zone. The SIP Sig Ports are listed.

Create a SIP Trunk Group

Create a SIP trunk group

  1. Select Address Context > Zone > SIP Trunk Group. The SIP Trunk Group page displays
  2. Select default from the Address Context drop-down menu.
  3. Select a zone from the Zone drop-down menu. For example, INTERNAL.
  4. Click + New SIP Trunk Group. The Create New SIP Trunk Group section displays.
  5. Enter Name. For example, INGRESS_TG.
  6. Set State as Enabled.
  7. Set Mode as In Service.
  8. Click Save.

  9. Repeat steps 3 through 8 to create another SIP trunk group for EXTERNAL zone. The SIP trunk groups are listed.

Configure Ingress IP Prefix

Procedure

  1. Select Address Context > Zone > SIP Trunk Group > Ingress IP Prefix. The Ingress IP Prefix page displays.
  2. Select default from the Address Context drop-down menu.
  3. Select a zone from the Zone drop-down menu. For example, INTERNAL.
  4. Select the trunk group from the SIP Trunk Group drop-down menu. For example, INGRESS_TG.
  5. Click + New Ingress IP Prefix.  The Create New Ingress IP Prefix section displays.
  6. Enter the IP Address.
  7. Enter the Prefix Length.
  8. Click Save.

Configure Media

Procedure

  1. Select Address Context > Zone > SIP Trunk Group > Media. The Media page displays.
  2. Select default from the Address Context drop-down menu.
  3. Select a zone from the Zone drop-down menu. For example, INTERNAL.
  4. Select the trunk group from the SIP Trunk Group drop-down menu. For example, INGRESS_TG.
  5. Select MLIG1 from the Media IP Interface Group Name drop-down menu.
  6. Click Save

  7. Repeat steps 3 through 6 to configure media for EGRESS_TG trunk group on EXTERNAL zone to select MLIG2.

Configure Remote Policy Server

Disable the Local Policy Server

Procedure

  1. Select System > Policy Server > Local Server. The Local Server page displays.
  2. Select the local server listed. The Edit Selected Local Server section displays.

  3. Set State as Disabled.

  4. Select Out of Service from the Mode drop-down menu.

  5. Click Save

Create a Remote Policy Server

Procedure

  1. Select System > Policy Server > Remote Server. The Remote Server page displays. 
  2. Click + New Remote Server. The Create New Remote Server section displays.

  3. Enter the server Name

  4. Enter server IP Address.

  5. Set State as Enabled

  6. Select Out of Service from the Mode drop-down menu. 

  7. Click Save.
