In this section:

A zone is used to group a set of objects unique in a particular customer environment. You can configure at most only one SIP signaling port or H.323 port in a zone. A zone can also be referenced by a SIP or H.323 trunk Group.

Note

Trunk group names must be unique across all address contexts, zones, and trunk group types.

IP peer names must be unique across all address contexts, and zones.

To View Zone

On SBC main screen, go to Configuration > System Provisioning > Category: Base Provisioning > Zone. The Zone window is displayed.

The Zone can be checked for each Address Context or for all the Address Contexts created. Use the drop-down box to select the desired Address Context.

To Edit Zone

To edit any of the Zones in the list, click the radio button next to the specific Zone name.

Make the required changes and click Save at the right hand bottom of the panel to save the changes made.

To Create Zone

To create a new Zone, click New Zone tab on the Zone List panel.

Description

Name

Specifies the name of the zone. Must be 1-23 characters. The value ranges up to 23 characters.

Zone name is unique across all address contexts.

Id

Unique ID of this zone. The value ranges from 1 to 4096.

Zone ID is unique across all address contexts.

DNS Group

The name of the DNS group. Select the DNS group from the drop-down list.

Remote Device Type

Specifies the type of device facing this Zone. The options are:

  • accessDevice
  • appServer
Domain NameSpecifies the name of the fully qualified domain name for this Zone. The value ranges up to 63 characters.
Dialog Transparency

This parameter specifies if dialog transparency is enabled for SIP messages processed in that zone. If enabled, SBC sends "Call-ID", "From" tag, and "To" tag transparently in the outgoing message.

The parameter Dialog Transparency must be enabled in both the ingress and egress zones.

To enable Dialog Transparency for a zone, first disable all Sip Sig Port for that zone.

To Delete Zone

To delete any of the created Zone, click the radio button next to the specific Zone which you want to delete.

Click Delete at the end of the highlighted row. A delete confirmation message appears seeking your decision.

Click OK to remove the specific Zone from the list.
